Disappearing zip file?

Hello,

This morning, I downloaded a 1 GB zip file, and about thirty seconds after the download finished, the file disappeared (I'm on Mac OS 10.14).

What could this be related to?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Configuration: Macintosh / Firefox 66.0

    Hello,

I'm not on Mojave, so there may be some Mojave-specific subtleties that I'm not aware of.

    But here are some tips:
Some .zip files open automatically after the download is complete, their contents then go into the downloads folder (either as a folder or otherwise), and the zip file goes straight to the trash. You should check these settings.

It's also possible that the file wasn't completely downloaded due to an internet connection interruption.

In Safari's Preferences, you can choose the location for downloads as well as how the list (the history) behaves. This way you can consult it, and by clicking on the small magnifying glass, see the file in Finder.

Otherwise, what happens if you try downloading again?

Is this download "safe," meaning without the risk of containing harmful stuff?

    Best regards.
