cursor issue moving constantly Closed

Question

Configuration: Mac OS X / Firefox 3.5.4  Hello,  I posted on the virus forum because I'm not sure if my problem is caused by a virus or not. It's about my cursor, which moves on its own and has become very difficult to control, even quite annoying! Whether it's through touch or using a mouse, the cursor moves everywhere! I have a hard time getting to a precise point like clicking on a link or a tab. Is this due to a virus? How can I resolve this issue?  Best regards  Naouel

Hello,I assume, since you're posting here, that you're on a Mac! (it's always good to specify your setup) and you must be talking about the "pointer"!!So, Apple menu/System Preferences/Keyboard and Mouse/Mouse or Trackpad, or even both, and you adjust the movement to be at maximum.--"One must have a lot of patience to learn how to be patient." Remember to repair the permissions from time to time and after each installation and update.
Regularly use an optimization utility, such as Onyx or ToolsX, if you leave your machine off at night, since the automatic maintenance does not occur as it is scheduled for 4 a.m.

To repair the permissions: folder Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility/Select the disk (Mac HD in general) menu SOS and click on the repair window at the bottom and then let it run.

Hello,

Just in case, have you installed any utilities recently? Any strange apps?

We should try reinstalling the system, like "Archive and Install," which will install a new, clean OS without touching personal data.
Then, if the problem persists, we'll try to find something else.
Maybe a corrupted preference file? I’m not sure, sorry.

I have the same problem, I type a few words and suddenly the cursor freezes and I have to reactivate it with the mouse.

I installed Parallels Desktop and a virtual machine, I feel like it started since then...

What could this have to do with it?

Hello everyone,

Same problem, and it appears completely randomly. Strangely enough, it showed up shortly after I bought a wireless mouse. The first time it appeared when it was plugged in. So I unplugged it thinking the problem was there. But nothing to be done, the problem was still there. A reboot, of course, but that didn't help. Then suddenly, out of the blue, no more problem. I almost forgot about that incident for a few days, and now today it's starting again. Except this time my wireless mouse (Logitech with USB receiver) wasn't plugged in!!!! So that "bugged" me for 10 minutes, and now nothing. I don't understand. Everything is working normally again. So I connected to another box to make sure I wasn't a victim of a system intrusion via wifi, I even turned on a proxy. No difference... Then I wondered if it wasn't some sort of interference with another device, another computer, phone, etc... But since my USB receiver is unplugged, and my Bluetooth is not connected, the only thing left is the wifi. But that exceeds my skills! Anyway, apart from a failure of the pad, I don't see anything. As I'm writing this, everything is working normally again. But for how long..?

I have somewhat the same problem. A few weeks ago, one morning when I turned on my computer (Macbook Pro), the cursor started moving by itself, moving icons, opening or closing software.... I thought someone had taken control of my computer, so I disconnected it from the internet. Same thing happened.
After spending several hours troubleshooting, I simply turned off the computer, and once it was restarted, it worked normally.
Everything was fine until this morning. Same thing. I tried turning it off twice with no success. It was on the third time that everything returned to normal.
Does anyone have an idea? I imagine the problem will return....
