Export pdf without layers

Hello everyone,

I created a document in InDesign and exported a final file for my client (HD pdf for printing), but when I open this pdf in Illustrator, all my layers are there.
How can I provide this pdf without layers? Thank you.

    Hello,

When saving in InDesign, you need to save as a single layer.

You know.. layers or no layers, the printer doesn't care at all...

Yes, it's for my client that I do not wish to provide the layers to the printer.

In InDesign, I don't think it's possible except to copy/paste for the layers on each page...
When exporting to PDF, you can choose which layers to export, but this might no longer correspond to your document...

On the other hand, with Acrobat "Pro," there is a function available: either merge the layers into one or flatten them

For your client, I don't see how the presence of layers will change anything.. If he wants to modify your PDF file, it's always easily possible as long as it's in a vector format... Rather complicate things for him by giving him the proof in image form in the PDF.

Yes, so if I follow you, we should create a PDF with the HD JPEGs of each page? And here, there is no possibility of retrieving layers?

For the approval to the client, it's the solution... to complicate his life if he wants to retrieve and modify the file...
However, for the printer, it's better to provide the PDF in vector format... it will be of better quality than an image..

Personally, I save as an image from Acrobat. That's what gives the best results in terms of quality and file size... better than what you get from Photoshop, especially when there are multiple pages... they are all done automatically and remain in the same file.

Perfect, tomorrow I will look for the option to save as image in Acrobat.
Thank you very much for your response!

With Acrobat "Pro" it's in the print window (print as image, a checkbox) and you provide a resolution of 300 dpi or less...
I believe it is also possible with Acrobat Reader.
