Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet with Android 4.1.2 as the operating system.
I would like to know if I have the option to upgrade to version 4.4, considering that some software cannot be updated with my current Android version.

Hello,

It is Samsung that provides the Android updates and they are quite responsive.
If they haven't developed new Android versions for your tablet, it's because it wouldn't support them.
That's not good news: You need to upgrade your hardware.

Good evening again,

I have done some research to find a new tablet, I think I have found one, but another perspective to guide me in my choice wouldn't hurt.

I am considering the following tablet: Samsung GALAXY TAB A 10.5" BLACK 64 GB WIFI.

All I have left is to change my tablet. However, if I switch to a more recent Samsung tablet, do you think the Android version will allow for updates over time, and thus I won't have to change my tablet again? What tablet do you recommend?

  You can still find tablets on the market with Android 4.4.
  The upgrade possibilities are likely limited to no more than Android 6 (that's the case with my NEXUS).
  And since these are machines of already outdated design, it's better to avoid them.
  
  Currently, there are quite few new tablets coming out. The market is divided between Samsung and Huawei.
  Besides the release date of the tablet, consider:
  - the internal memory and storage capacity
  - the screen resolution: go for Full HD (at least 1920x1200 pixels) otherwise you'll see the pixels.
  There are generally no surprises in terms of connectivity. Jack ports are still widely present; if you have USB-C instead of micro-USB, that's a good thing (better speeds and more durable).
  
  For €200 to €300, you should find a quite capable tablet that will make you forget your ancestor!
