BIRD UM1, which was working very well, has become a low-quality microphone.

Hello,

I used my BIRD UM1 mic on my old laptop (ASUS) for over a year and it worked perfectly.

I recently bought a new laptop (ACER SWIFT5) and the quality has become very poor. However, when I plug the mic back into my old computer, it records perfectly.

I’ve tried all the forums and I haven't found any conclusive solutions...

Do you have any advice for me? Is it possible that it's simply my new computer that doesn't support the mic?

Thanks

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 63.0

Hello,

In this case, there is a good chance that it comes from the lower quality of the computer's sound card.
In the worst-case scenario, try using an external sound card to see.

See you later.

Do you have a recommendation for a sound card model to buy?

I don't have a model to suggest.
It would be best to find a store where you can try some out, because depending on the models, you might not be safe from them being the same.
Try to see if there's a sound equipment store in your area, as they sometimes have several models.

the problem is that external sound cards offer inputs via a jack connector and not a USB connector...

It exists in USB connection.
I have a model that works via USB outlet.
That's why I was telling you to check out sound equipment shops.
