Fiber Optic Cabling Ethernet Network

Hello,

I'm reaching out for help because I admit I'm a bit lost, having no knowledge in electrical networking.

My problem: my ethernet network isn't working...

I just moved into a new house as a tenant.
The landlord praised the ethernet network with an RJ45 socket in every room.

In the first few weeks of moving in, an Orange technician (or rather a subcontractor) came to install fiber in our house. I wasn't there. My partner, who was present, told me he struggled and pulled a cable from the outside...

I only looked into the ethernet network in the past few weeks.
And there, to my great surprise, when I connect my Livebox to an ethernet socket via an RJ45 cable (or to the DTI socket), there's no green light on the back of the Livebox... and when I plug a computer into another ethernet socket via an RJ45 cable, my computer doesn't detect a cable...

I asked my landlord, who brought in the contractor who looked in the electrical panel.
Response: the Orange technician pulled a cable from the outside to the fiber box (fixed to the wall) which is connected to the Livebox, but the DTI box is not connected to the fiber cable (there's a cable coming down from the DTI box that is not connected to anything...)

I called Orange. The person I spoke to on the phone told me they can't do anything for me...
She saw two scenarios:
- first scenario: the network is an ADSL network and not ethernet. In this case, the two technologies fiber and ADSL are not compatible... and anyway, that doesn't help me because we can't connect a computer to an ADSL socket.. (the Livebox is connected downstairs and I wanted to connect my computer upstairs). This was the most likely case for this person at Orange, even though my landlord and the contractor swore it was an ethernet network.
- second scenario: it is indeed an ethernet network and in this case it is not up to Orange (according to this person...) to connect the fiber to the ethernet network because the internet works fine with the fiber box.

I then removed the cover where the DTI box is to look at the wiring. And there I saw two strange things:
- there are 4 cables (they look like RJ11) going from the DTI box to the network (ethernet or adsl) with 4 connectors on each side while I have six ethernet sockets in six rooms of the house...
- on the cables going from the DTI box, there are 4 little phones drawn underneath which makes me think more of an ADSL network, even if I can plug both RJ45 and RJ11 into the 6 sockets in my six rooms.

That's it, I hope I was clear.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Configuration: Macintosh / Chrome 68.0.3440.106

Hello
being connected to fiber, yes! it means your apartment is connected, I would say electrically speaking, wired if you prefer!
but is your network activated? at my daughter’s place it took almost a month!

Good evening Nadellen, and thank you.
What do you mean by "is your network activated?"
