Hello,

The scrolling speed on the Facebook news feed is way too fast (only for the past two days), so I'm unable to read the messages. As soon as I start reading a message, a new one appears and then disappears without any action on my part, and so on... So it's impossible to follow the news feed.

This difficulty only exists for the news feed.

Thank you for informing me about the possibilities of restoring normal functionality to the FB news feed.

Problem solved, I went to the Mozilla site and clicked on "Repair Mozilla" and it was fine.

I have the same problem but have a lead. I followed the instructions above and launched "repair Firefox," which removes add-ons, particularly addblockplus. It does work, and the FB news feed no longer jumps.
But if I reinstall ABP, it messes up again. I checked by disabling ABP without uninstalling it: everything goes back to normal. So I hypothesize that there is an incompatibility between FB and ABP.
But how can I use FB and ABP at the same time? I don't have an answer; it's beyond my skills.
Hoping this gives some ideas to a computer whiz....

  Absolutely possible, I had thought about it and you just gave me a confirmation... which saddens me, because I have ABP and I definitely don’t want to uninstall it.
  So, I discovered that there is a real war between FB and ABP, which would also explain this "bug" which isn’t a bug after all...
  Well, I guess I’ll just have to be patient while waiting for someone (at ABP or a "nice" IT person) to give us the solution...?

  We agree. So the solution I've adopted is when I'm on the FB news feed to click on the ABP icon and not block the ads on that page... and then reactivate it afterwards. Not great, but it's better than nothing... Note that on my personal page and on friends' and groups' pages, we can keep ABP active... for now. But since it's war, there may be an escalation...

  Yes, it only causes problems on the Facebook Home for now, not on the pages we choose to visit... Ugh... Ok, I'll try activating and deactivating ADP each time... :(

  I thank mimiravi for her help here, regarding this anti-ad ABP, it is not necessary to uninstall it, but just to remove the slider to deactivate it only for the Facebook page for now. I say "for now" because my wife's Facebook is working normally, whereas I haven’t encountered this kind of problem yet; who knows with computers!!!

Hello, I have the same issue as you, I’m commenting to keep an eye out for a response.
When Facebook finally stops on a news item, as soon as I scroll (use the wheel to go down) in my feed, it starts again. By focusing, I've even noticed that the posts are not necessarily the most recent.
If someone can help us, thank you in advance.

  It's nice to know that we're not alone, but I'm indeed eagerly awaiting a solution to address this issue. I don't know if it's a virus, if my account has been hacked or something else. I've sent a help message to Facebook, but haven't received any response.

  Let's try to figure this out together then. The problem is the same on the other Facebook accounts used on my laptop, so it's not hacking. Which internet browser are you using? I recently updated mine (Firefox), so that might be the issue.

  I also use Firefox and I don't remember if I recently updated it, but it's entirely possible. However, I tried to log into my FB account on my son's tablet and everything is normal.

Hello, since this morning I've been having the same problem. I've run several different anti-malware programs that found nothing. I think my account has been hacked. I expected to find a solution here. If someone can tell me how to create a new account without losing my friends, I’d be willing to try that if it solves the problem. Additionally, if I go on my laptop, Facebook works normally.

  Indeed, I checked my account from the tablet and not from the computer, and I no longer have this issue. However, from the computer the problem persists, and I still haven't found a solution to resolve this issue. Please let me know if you find a solution.

I'm having the same problem (it's December 2018...) for three days now, and reinstalling Mozilla and clearing caches, histories, and cookies hasn't helped at all. Has anyone found a solution since then?

  Good evening, I have been looking for help too for several days, Mozilla reinstalled, and caches cleared, CCleaner used.
  The scrolling is still too fast. The problem does not exist on Android.

  I've been looking for 11 days too! It's frustrating!
  It seems that the problem doesn't exist or can be fixed on a smartphone, but on my desktop PC, there's nothing that can be done and no solution on the horizon. Repairing Firefox hasn't helped, but the problem is the same with Chrome; I've tried!!
  I sadly see that this problem existed a year ago and no solution has been provided.
  I've reported the problem to Facebook twice, and they haven't responded. The only things that get them to react are security issues.

  Yes, indeed, if these browsers have ad blockers like ABP or maybe others, it is enough to disable it only for the Facebook page.

Hello and Merry Christmas to All,
Indeed, it is ABP that causes this continuous scrolling of the news feed. So I opted to disable ABP when I'm on FB and then re-enable it for other pages.
For lack of a better solution, it is indeed the solution.
