PC locked Password denied Solved

Question

Hello, I am in a great embarrassment. I was trying to look up an address in the Yellow Pages when my computer shut down. I restart it, and it asks me for the password; I have never changed it, I know it by heart but it refuses it. Since then, I have gone to account.live.com to create another password; I am told that the password has been successfully changed; but the computer rejects both the new and the old one. I went to the blue screen to choose "an option, then troubleshooting, then reset this PC, then keep my files." It is now preparing to reset with the old password!! And once launched, it stops at about 45% and then erases what it has already done. When the screen displays my photo and my name, there is only the password that it refuses. When it shows a kind of silhouette instead of my photo, both the username and password are ignored, even though my name is displayed under the silhouette. I think I have summarized everything; I would at least like to keep my files. If I have to reinstall the software, so be it, they were free. I read that one could create a Windows 10 recovery DVD; I have another PC running Windows 10 and on which I am sending this message.  Does anyone want to take a look at my case? Hi,  Be careful to distinguish between the login password and the PIN code that you must have set up at the beginning when you bought or updated your PC to Windows 10.  It might simply be asking for the PIN code, and you are entering your login password.  Right below the login window where you enter the password, there are icons. You need to select the right one to log in using the PIN code or your password.

Hello,  The reset stops halfway (45%) to ask for your password This is unfortunately not a good sign  When you are on the login screen where you need to enter your password in the box  Have you checked with the on-screen keyboard if the password is typed correctly? Logically, you should have an icon at the bottom right or left in the shape of a circle with dashes resembling a clock Click on it, then on → on-screen keyboard  You can try these solutions  -If you are on Wi-Fi Turn off the Wi-Fi button on your keyboard if you have one, then turn it back on Try your password or both since you have changed it  -Still on the login screen, look at the bottom for a TV-shaped icon Click on it and check if the network connection is enabled (Wi-Fi or Network if Ethernet depending on your case) This means - on Ethernet → Network Enabled -On Wi-Fi → Enabled Additionally, you can see the list of networks, including yours, and connect to it At the same time, the Airplane mode is displayed: it should be set to disabled  -Using a smartphone Log in to your Microsoft account Keep the smartphone on and enter the password on your PC (I managed this maneuver for a friend) Try your 2 passwords  info In your smartphone's Settings, enable hotspot sharing and try  -Brutal method (sort of) Once on the login screen (at the password) Turn off the PC by holding down the Power button Turn it back on and try the passwords  -It may be that the Num Lock key is disabled Just press it.  -If you have a laptop, remove the battery (on newer ones it's almost impossible as they are integrated) and the charger (also unplug the mouse if connected) Press the Power button for 30 seconds Reinsert the battery, turn on the PC to make a test  -It’s possible that the PC cannot find the connection if it’s a laptop, connect an Ethernet cable  ++   pistouri

Why are you telling me that it's a bad sign if the reset stops at 45%? Is the reset for my HP system OR FOR W10? I'm starting to wonder if it's the PC itself, meaning the HP system that has a problem, or if W10 is the one that's malfunctioning because everything I've tried so far based on your insightful advice hasn't worked. I’m thinking that the simplest solution is to reinstall a clean W10 since I’m fortunate to have almost always used two external drives. All I’ll need to do is install the software to access the folders, and I might have them in the backups of my downloads. Moreover, I just changed the hard drive and I still have the old one, and even though it had a problem, I know I can recover stuff from it. So thank you for the advice, but I’ll manage to get there by reinstalling a clean W10, except I don’t have an installation CD, but I'll check with a friend to figure it out unless you can give me some advice? Good evening,  If the reset is blocked, it indicates a problem either with Windows 10  or something else like an antivirus for example.  The best option would be to start with a clean installation, and if you have a friend to help you, even better.  You won't have the HP software installed by default that causes issues, among other things.  Just make sure to update the drivers from the HP website.  You can create a Windows 10 USB drive (the ISO) using Rufus. Then set the BIOS to boot from the USB drive. Your license key is already registered on the servers thanks to your Microsoft account.  To recover the data from your other hard drive, you can buy a USB enclosure (put your hard drive in it) and connect it to your PC or someone else's. You just need to browse the disk to Users and check the folders (images, videos, documents...) to copy/paste to a USB drive or another hard drive. Apparently, you have already backed up your data, but keep the USB enclosure tip in mind (it costs about 20 euros).   pistouri
