Hello,
I am in a great embarrassment. I was trying to look up an address in the Yellow Pages when my computer shut down. I restart it, and it asks me for the password; I have never changed it, I know it by heart but it refuses it. Since then, I have gone to account.live.com to create another password; I am told that the password has been successfully changed; but the computer rejects both the new and the old one.
I went to the blue screen to choose "an option, then troubleshooting, then reset this PC, then keep my files."
It is now preparing to reset with the old password!! And once launched, it stops at about 45% and then erases what it has already done.
When the screen displays my photo and my name, there is only the password that it refuses. When it shows a kind of silhouette instead of my photo, both the username and password are ignored, even though my name is displayed under the silhouette.
I think I have summarized everything; I would at least like to keep my files. If I have to reinstall the software, so be it, they were free. I read that one could create a Windows 10 recovery DVD; I have another PC running Windows 10 and on which I am sending this message.

Does anyone want to take a look at my case? Thank you

Configuration: Windows 10 - HP 550 133NF PAV. WIN10
Asus smartphone
LG Pad 8.3 tablet

Hi,

Be careful to distinguish between the login password and the PIN code that you must have set up at the beginning when you bought or updated your PC to Windows 10.

It might simply be asking for the PIN code, and you are entering your login password.

Right below the login window where you enter the password, there are icons.
You need to select the right one to log in using the PIN code or your password.
