How to turn off Bluetooth?

Hello everyone.

I am reaching out to get answers to my questions.
We have had a LG CM4560 700W Black and Red Hi-Fi System from the C*nf*r*ma store for several months now.

The issue is that a few days ago, someone connected to our Hi-Fi system, which was plugged in but turned off, via Bluetooth to share their songs. This person was therefore able to play any songs they wanted and adjust the volume.

Fearing that this could be a new method for thieves to determine if residents are home or not, and also because it is annoying (especially when the person turns on the Hi-Fi system at night or unexpectedly during the day, and plays their songs while we are listening to ours at the same time), I would like to know how to disable the Bluetooth connection on the Hi-Fi system.

This is not clearly explained in the paper manual or in the PDF available online. We found that you need to hold the ON/OFF button for five seconds. The Hi-Fi system turns off, but when we turn it back on, the Bluetooth is still not disabled.

So, if anyone has the same model and has managed to disable the Bluetooth connection, or if anyone knows the procedure for this case, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance, and I wish you an excellent weekend.

[Pn].

To cut off the wireless network connection or disconnect the wireless device
Turn off the device by pressing and holding the Power button for more than 5 seconds

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it isn't there...

Hello, Baladur13.

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately, the solution I had already found does not work at all. As I explained in my previous post: "We found that we need to hold down the ON/OFF button for five seconds. The HiFi system turns off, but when we turn it back on, Bluetooth is still not disabled." So I was wondering if there were any other solutions...?

Thank you very much.

Good morning/evening, Chris.

Thank you for this solution. I’m glad it works for you, but unfortunately it doesn’t for us.
From what I know now:
- We can unplug the HiFi system to prevent any Bluetooth connection attempts.
- We can plug in the HiFi system, turn it on (ON), press and hold the (ON/OFF) button for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. This will disable the Bluetooth connection. (To reactivate it, simply select "BT" for Bluetooth directly on the HiFi system).
- As you mentioned, we can leave the Bluetooth connection on and play a song. However, the fact is that the HiFi system takes into account the closest mobile phone. And the "neighbor" unfortunately has the upper hand over our phone. Furthermore, according to my research this extends up to 30 meters.
- I read somewhere that we need to download an app for the Bluetooth HiFi system where we can disable certain connected users via Bluetooth.

For now, everything is going better. We are no longer bothered.
But I still advise you to unplug your HiFi system at night or if you leave your house.

I wish you an excellent day/evening.
