Good evening everyone. I have an ASUS with an I5 7300HQ 2.5GHz, 8GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 graphics card. After checking, my RAM is soldered. I only have one slot, which is therefore occupied by this RAM. As a result, I wanted to know if I can modify and increase the RAM capacity on this PC? Thank you Best regards

exactly, it's an Asus ROG GL502VMZ???

I found information that the GL502Vxx model series has only one RAM slot => what you mentioned in your initial post

and that the RAM is soldered => so it's normal that you don't see the RAM with CPU-Z
in the BIOS, yes

conclusion = you can't do anything
just make do with the RAM you have

It is still misleading to sell a product by saying that certain modifications, particularly the RAM upgrade, can be made on such and such a product, when in reality this is not the case at all....

We've been going in circles for quite some time now... this PC can certainly accommodate an additional 8GB to go from 8 to 16 (24 is a different story).

Now, to find out if there is actually an empty slot, it is not that difficult to open the lid and check.

Hello,
This PC has 8 or 4 GB of soldered RAM + one free slot.
It can handle 16 or 12 GB (depending on whether the soldered module is 8 or 4 GB).
Check if you have a stick or not in the slot.

I can only say what I find online...
There are ten screws to be undone to check if there is a slot for memory...
and to know if this slot is free or already occupied by a stick.

You do not have a soldered slot, but soldered RAM (outside the slot) and an empty slot.
Depending on the ROG GL520VM models, there is a maximum of 16GB or 24GB
The GL502VM model has 16GB and the GL502VM (7th Gen Intel Core) has a maximum of 24GB

Kingston claims that 8GB additional is the max for this model. (see message#5
Personally, I think it's safer to stick to this value.
8GB soldered plus 8GB in the free slot means 16GB, which seems quite comfortable to me.

not really a RAM specialist; but, in my opinion, "the little extra" would be to try a 16GB at the risk that the motherboard might not be able to handle it.
and so an investment that becomes useless.
16GB is still not cheap.
