How to scan multiple pages into the same document?

I want to scan multiple pages into the same document and not merge them into a PDF once scanned. This worked very well with Windows Vista, which asked me each time if I wanted to add another page...

I succeeded with my Epson XP-302 printer
just like in the tutorial below.

My remarks
-I put my first page in the scanner
-I start with EpsonScan
- As in paragraph 6, in Image format set
Type = PDF (*.pdf)
- When you get to paragraph 8, click on: Add a page
- Replace the 1st page in the scanner with the 2nd
- Continue this way if there are more pages to add
- In the end, after saving, we will have a single document
PDF containing all the scanned pages.

I use iCopy to scan, and it offers the option to scan multiple pages and save them as a PDF, regardless of the printer/scanner, and it works very well.

Whether it is Icopy or the Windows 10 scanner, they can only be used if they are connected to your
own printer.
Both work on my PC as long as I turn on my
Epson printer to which they will connect.

I am on W10 but I gave up a long time ago
on the Windows scanner feature.
Since W10 accesses our personal printer (e.g., Epson), I use EpsonScan directly as I explained.
I don't see the point of going through W10 (and I'm not the only one in my circle doing this).

I managed to create a shortcut to EPSON SCAN on the desktop. However, when I click or double-click it, nothing happens. So I still can't open EPSON SCAN. On the other hand, if I use SCANNER, it works, but I can't scan multiple pages into the same document.
