Convert MP3 to WAV. What’s the benefit?

Hello,

I discovered a platform called onlinevideoconverter that allows you to convert a YouTube link into a WAV file.

When I download a file and check its information,
the bitrate is 1,411 kbit/s, with a sample rate of 44,100 kHz, and it weighs about 80 MB for 7 minutes.

Whereas when I download in MP3, the bitrate is 192 or 320 kbit/s,
44,100 kHz sample rate, and around 12 MB for 8 minutes.

Looking at these figures, I feel like I'm gaining quality. But what is the reality? If the original file is an MP3 (thus compressed), is it worthwhile to convert it to WAV (uncompressed)? Am I gaining quality?

Thank you for your answers

    Hello
back in the day, you had to convert the mp3 to wav in order to turn it into an audio CD for hi-fi systems.

Good evening Redbart! Thank you for your response. So according to you, is there a benefit to converting mp3 to Wav? If I get 1411 kbit/s instead of 320, is there really an improvement?

        Hello,

It doesn't improve the quality to convert from mp3 to wav.
If the base is bad, it's pretty much like with anything else, you can't make something good out of "bad".

        See you later.

So how can we explain that it goes through at 1411 kbit/s? Thank you for your response.
