Convert YouTube to AVI

Hello,

a slew of sites offer this conversion, but in reality, as soon as you select the AVI format, no one is around, the conversion and downloads fail.

However, I have an old Freebox that doesn't recognize MP4 or MPEG, so... AVI, TS, and MKV only...

So I'd like to know if anyone has found a converter or a site (preferably free) that actually manages this conversion into one of the aforementioned 3 formats.

I've also tried VLC to convert it to TS; it seemed to work, but the file ends up being 0 kb and is therefore unreadable, a real headache...

Thank you for your response, it's also for personal use of course.
Don't you know of any site or software that avoids a secondary conversion manipulation?
