accidental removal of my printer from devices

Question

Hello, While trying to manage my Epson XP 212 printer, I accidentally deleted the printer from the devices.  I can’t find it anymore, it’s gone, and I can’t use it.  I can’t find the installation CD, and my printer is from 2015, still relatively new and in great condition; I use it infrequently but it is very useful to me!  What should I do?

My printer was on, and my computer said it was turned off. That's why I went to the settings and devices to see what was happening with the printer, and I accidentally deleted the printer. I just turned my computer off and back on, the printer is on, but nothing appears in the devices. I don't have the installation CD. What should I do?

Hello,  Have you restarted the PC with the printer on? Hello 1st solution, restore your PC to a time or date before the deletion if that doesn't solve the issue, you can cancel the restoration and move on to the 2nd solution.  2nd solution: the full software is here: (depending on your current operating system) https://www.epson.eu/support/?lng=fr-FR&data=VkjUmbBFNN3guZUbVBEJMuS26s2th1AR+0HenaXRIq4U003D&tc=6  create a new folder, on the desktop or wherever you can find it download the software into this folder unplug the USB from the PC reinstall your printer from scratch  then if you want, you can burn the contents of the folder onto a CD to create a new backup just in case..

Hello, What operating system is this printer supposed to work under? Windows, if so, XP, Vista, etc.? An possible solution is to restore a system restore point to a date prior to the mishap; that should work in principle. Thank you very much glg29, but..  I just reinstalled driver 7.14 and Epson Scan. The printer is visible again in my devices and the icon has reappeared. But when I start a print job, here's the error message that appears. It's the same message that showed up before I accidentally deleted the printer, I was wondering what was going on and... my printer is still on.  What should I do?    Connect the printer to the computer and turn it on. If you turn off the printer during printing, click on [Print Queue] and cancel the print job before restarting.
