Hello,
I have a Gigaset C620A phone. I can no longer hear my caller leaving a message directly on my answering machine. Whether I check or uncheck the Handset and/or Base options in the Call Filtering menu, I still can't hear my caller when they leave a message on the answering machine. What should I do?

    Hello,
Call filtering is in service, is the volume on the base properly set?

I thank you for answering me... but yes, I think I have set up the call filtering correctly... in fact, I'm not sure anymore... Should we check or uncheck the box to the right of the Handset and/or the Base in the Voicemail menu < Call Filtering? As for the volume, I believe it is set correctly at the base since I can hear the messages from the Orange answering machine very well when I dial 3103. By the way, on that note, I no longer have any signal on the base when I leave a message on my Gigaset voicemail from my mobile, neither 00 flashing, nor slow flashing, nor 99 flashing quickly (?)...
Given my response, do you think all these frustrations come from the Orange operator?
Thank you, Baladur 13, for your forthcoming reply, perhaps...

Your C620A device has a built-in answering machine. There is no reason for your messages to be received by Orange, except due to incorrect settings on the time after which your answering machine activates.

If, with call screening turned on, you do not hear your caller leave a message, that is normal since the message is not being sent to your device but to Orange's voicemail.

Therefore, you need to set your answering machine activation to a value lower than that which triggers Orange's voicemail. By default, Orange sets this to 5 rings (about 20 seconds).
So you should set it to a lower value. 18 seconds should be the correct setting.
Excerpt from the manual on page 37
Please also check that you are indeed using the recording answering machine and not just the simple answering machine (manual page 36).

Thank you very much for your concise and effective response. Indeed, it's better to have one who knows than ten who search! Proof of that, :-) !
While I’m at it, and given your expertise, I would like to ask if it is normal for calls coming from Quebec (my daughter), starting with 001 514 ... etc., to be displayed as withheld numbers even though her number is saved in my Gigaset C620A directory? As a result, I can certainly set up a blacklist, but this risks blocking my daughter's number under the same conditions of the previously mentioned blacklist, which obviously does not please me.
Does this come from the Quebec telephony system, from Orange, or from the Gigaset C620A?
Thank you very much for your possible response.

If your daughter appears with a masked number, it means she either requested to mask her number for this call or has a permanent secrecy option set up with her operator. Therefore, it's up to her to modify this with her Quebec operator. What is this Quebec operator? We can probably find the procedure to either lift the permanent secrecy permanently or for a specific case. If a number is masked, it is not transmitted by your correspondent's operator. Therefore, even if it is in the directory, your device cannot retrieve it because the number was not provided.

I communicated with my daughter, and indeed, it certainly comes from her operator or possibly from her.
The important thing for me was to know whether the Gigaset phone (or the Orange operator) was the cause of this issue.
Thank you for clarifying this question I had… Thank you very much for your efficiency and for the accurate and relevant answers you provided. I can now use the Gigaset properly with a normal answering machine.
Thanks again and best wishes to you.
