Hello,
For a few days now, my touchpad hasn't been working.
I've searched several forums for a solution, but I haven't found anything.
When I go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers and then click on what's listed as my mouse, it says:
- << Synaptics ps/2 port touchpad: This device cannot start. (Code 10)
So, I would like to know how to fix this problem and get my touchpad working again.

Hello,
This is usually due to the Touchpad driver not functioning correctly after a modification.
Also, make sure that you haven't disabled the Touchpad with a keyboard shortcut.
This problem is very annoying and quite complex to solve, but we will try to help as much as possible.
To begin with, could we have the brand and model of your computer?
Best regards.

- Re,
Yes, of course, the brand of my computer is ACER and the model is a
Aspire E5-731.
I don't know how to disable the Touchpad with keyboard shortcuts, so no ^^ unless I might have accidentally clicked on a button ^^.
Ps: No, I haven't made/suffered any modifications other than the fact that I updated my drivers.

You don't need to look any further for the cause of the problem; I've encountered the same issue twice on two laptops when trying to update the drivers with Driver Booster.
Have you used software to update your drivers?
Try reverting to a previous backup of Windows.
What version of Windows are you using?
First of all, I suggest you try something. Please follow the steps below carefully:1. Go to Device Manager
2. Find the Touchpad and then go to Properties (right-click)
3. Driver tab -> Try to revert to a previous version.
If that doesn't work:
4. Disable then restart the computer
If it still doesn't work:
5. Uninstall the driver
6. Run (Windows + R) -> Type Msconfig.exe and press Enter
7. Choose selective startup and disable Load startup items
8. Services tab -> Hide all Microsoft services -> Disable all then Apply.
9. Restart the computer
10. Download the Touchpad driver using the link below

11. Restart the computer
