Hello,
I want to write country names in uppercase in Excel 2016, but they keep reverting to lowercase. Do you have a solution to avoid this auto-correction?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 50.0

Hello,

This is indeed an automatic correction that has existed for a long time in Office, and we don't know why! :)

File tab, Options
On the left: Proofing
On the right: AutoCorrect Options button

In the replace box, type the name of a country (France for example), it will show up and be selected in the list. You just need to click on Delete.

Unfortunately, you'll have to do this for each country.

Hello
(and hi Marina, sending you hugs for the new year with all my best wishes)
We can also keep the entered format by unchecking in the list of checks/the auto-correction option.
"correction while typing"
.....but of course that would eliminate all types of auto-corrections!
Best regards

The quality of the response mainly depends on the clarity of the question, thank you!

Hello Vaucluse and a kiss to you for the new year... even if it's a bit early still! :))
Yes, of course we can uncheck that, but it indeed removes all auto-corrections. At the same time, for Excel it's not necessarily a big deal, auto-corrections are more of a thing for Word!

Hello to you,
Thank you for your answers, they will simplify my life!
After searching a lot, I found a solution somewhat by chance: by making a typo in the name of a country (e.g., ROAUME-UNIS), I noticed that the uppercase letters remain, and by adding the missing letter afterward, the name stays indeed in uppercase.
Thank you anyway, have a wonderful holiday season :)
