OpenOffice underlines everything in red!

Hello,
For 3 years I've been writing my stories on OpenOffice and, all of a sudden, the spell checker highlights all my words in red. I am indeed in French language though. So I installed Apache OpenOffice, and nothing changed. I tried to add an extension, failed! I'm told it doesn't exist. (Yet I downloaded it and did this at least 3-4 times.) I don't know what to do anymore, there's no way to continue my novel under these conditions... I saw that such a matter was resolved a few years ago, however, it suggested the solutions I've tried, which ended in failure. I need help... thank you. :)

    try to purge the profile
    It seems to me that the new versions of Apache OpenOffice keep the old profile during installation.

      Thank you for your response! I was able to fix the problem in the afternoon and get back to my chapters. Indeed, it needed to be purged... For those who have this issue, here's the solution:
      - Press the WINDOWS key (a flag) and R (at the same time).
      - Then type << %appdata% >>
      - Look for the OpenOffice folder
      - Rename it to << OldOpenOffice >>

      It's fixed! :DD
