Open office: my spell checker highlights everything in red

Hello, for some time now on Open Office, my spell checker is underlining everything in red even though there are no mistakes. And when I click to correct the mistake, it doesn’t suggest anything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Open Office, but it still doesn’t work. Can anyone help me?

    test a profile purge (containing certain information related to the software) because reinstalling does not necessarily reset the profile.

    profile purge
    press the WINDOWS key (a flag) and R (at the same time).
    -Then, type << %appdata% >>
    -Look for the OpenOffice folder
    -Rename it << OldOpenOffice >>
