Since yesterday, I can no longer delete with the two delete keys; when I press them, the character $ appears in lowercase and the character £ appears in uppercase.
When I want to start a new line, I get the same characters with the equal sign appearing sometimes.
In your opinion, has my keyboard just died or could it be saved by some manipulation?
Thank you for your insights.

To save time, try using another keyboard; if you don't have one, borrow your friend's. If the problem is resolved, it's your keyboard that is dead. Otherwise, it's a software issue; in that case, check in the control panel if your keyboard is set to the standard French layout.
But I lean more towards the keyboard being broken.

You forgot to specify whether you have a desktop computer (separate keyboard) or a laptop (built-in keyboard)... And since you just signed up as a member, you don't yet know how to behave on CCM... So take the time to read the Charter and the CCM Guide, to apply them in the future:

Hello.
Do you mean the DELETE key and the backspace?
If so, the "backspace" key and the $ / £ key are next to each other.
Have you thought – if you can do it – about removing the delete keys, backspace, and the $ / £ key to clean them?
Sometimes, dust, crumbs, or other debris can get stuck and block the keys.
Before throwing out the keyboard, clean the inside.
And as we've already told you, you can test it with another keyboard.
What’s really strange is that the keys are in the same area: Would you happen to have spilled liquid on this keyboard at some point?
