Hello,

I need help choosing an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for my PC with a 850W power supply.

I at minimum need 4 French outlets.

It also needs to be quiet since it will be placed in my bedroom.

    Hello,

    You need the total power when plugged in: 4 outlets, so 1 PC, at least 1 monitor (what power?) and then? The power rating of the power supply is not the power consumed by the PC; depending on the hardware configuration and usage, it’s possible to estimate.

    Next, we need to consider the usage of this UPS; is it to cover micro-outages or for outages of several minutes, tens of minutes, or hours?

    And we should also know your approximate budget? In consumer affordable brands you can look at Eaton and APC. Note there is a power factor ratio (PF) of about x0.6 between the power given by manufacturers in VA (volt-amperes) and the available power in Watts (for example 1000VA = 600W )

    I have a 5070ti and a 9800x3d

    On the extra connectors I would connect, 2 monitors and my internet box

    I have a relatively large budget, up to 600 euros, if I can spend less I won’t say no.

    I would have liked this specialized gaming model, but it doesn’t have a French plug/socket.

        You should be at a maximum consumption of 600/700W at full load for the PC (500/600W for the PC itself, the two monitors are about 100W total, the box is negligible), but realistically for average use it would be around 400/500W, so this one is quite oversized. But these are "Schuko" / Type F outlets like the vast majority of computer sockets we have in Europe. There’s a 99% chance it’s compatible with your hardware; look at your male plugs, the grounding is done by a tab on the sides and you have small notches in the molding.

    Hi

    We should first define the need for using the UPS, i.e. the use of the PC in emergency mode.

    What is the exact need? Because supporting a PC and/or an Internet box can be understood, but one or more monitors ??? why? because a monitor doesn’t save anything, it is useless to connect them to a UPS.

      Wobbling the screen lets you see what you’re doing to save your work and shut down safely.

      These are not miraculous devices; the battery life is at best 20-30 minutes, and you do need to know what you want to do with it—the benefit is relatively limited for an individual who regularly backups their data.

      Regarding brands, a few years ago (not for me, for the co-ownership), I bought an Infosec Hero Touch 800 VA, European plugs and good value for money.

        The company where I worked, it was forbidden to plug screens into the emergency network or the uninterruptible power supply (UPS); this unnecessarily overloads the system during a outage and transfer to battery/maintenance power.

        However, the instruction for display needs was to reconnect the screen as needed after about thirty seconds, just long enough to be certain the outage would continue, since these are generally micro-outages of less than a second observed.

        So only the sensitive equipment should be kept connected; screens are not part of that.

        Yes, that’s right, if we want to last more than an hour, it takes several batteries in parallel, with thick-gauge cables linking everything together, a matter of thousands of euros.

    Vevor Pure Sine Wave Inverter, a simple Inverter you’re looking for?

    Not an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)?

    But what will charge the 12V battery?

    Here we have a Vevor Sump Pump Backup system, with a Vevor 120V 3000W and a 12V 200Ah (2560Ah) Pujimax battery

    But in Europe, there are only inverters, "Inverter" not Backup Systems which function more like an UPS, it charges the battery when the power returns, and it’s noisy only during battery charging (30A), at least, in low usage.

    But, even with a 2560Ah battery, at 100 Watts consumption, it’s only good for 25 hours

    I don’t know if what you’re looking for can really be found within a reasonable budget.
