UNAUTHORIZED debits from my PayPal account

On 08/08/2016, I made a purchase on Zalando for 31 euros (transaction No. 121.............6769). PayPal regularly debited my account.
But when checking my bank statement, I noticed that after this debit, PayPal made three successive debits of 31.00 euros each on the same date. These transactions do not appear on my PayPal statement, and I never authorized them.
I sent an email to PayPal, and they replied as follows:
"Thank you for contacting us regarding your payments.
We reviewed your PayPal account and found that you attempted to make a payment of 31 EUR to Zalando SE multiple times on August 8, 2016.
Only the payment linked to transaction #7Y538236CH413540T could be completed. For all other attempts, a rejection from your bank blocked the withdrawal. Therefore, the transactions you mentioned in your email are not visible on your account.
Please contact your bank directly, if necessary, if you would like more information on why these transactions appear on your bank statement."
What PayPal is saying is not true at all! I have never had payment issues with my card; everything worked fine, and my card has never been rejected and has always been with me; I have never been dispossessed of it. Where did this money go?
Could someone advise me?

Hello,
Well, it's written in French... There have been 3 payment requests that PayPal made to your bank, your bank only authorized the first one and rejected the other two... So you have 3 transactions displayed on PayPal and only 1 displayed on your bank statement.
