Creative ZEN MP3 Player Frozen Solved

Question

Hello,

My daughter's Creative Zen MP3 player is stuck.

Indeed, as soon as she turns it on or when we plug it in to recharge, the library rebuilds and remains stuck.

How can we make everything go back to normal?

Hello everyone,

I just had an issue with my Zen Creative and here is the troubleshooting I performed:

1. On the bottom right side, there's an option to do a software reset through a tiny 0.1mm diameter hole. So take a paperclip and push it in there. This will unlock your player but will not erase the data.

2nd solution: If the soft reset didn't work, then do a "cleanup", then a "format all", and then connect the player to your PC, whether the Zen player is recognized or not. Then go to:

Then choose your model

Next, download the latest "Firmware", accept the license, download, and then run the software with the player connected.

There you go, you have a like-new player!! ;)

In fact, now the Firmware problem message appears, and then we have the options: Clean Format All Reload Firmware Reboot.  I have tried all the options except Format All, but it still doesn't work.

it's been a month since I bought a Creative Zen Sleek player and today I connected it to another PC to sort and organize my library, but as soon as I plugged it in, it got stuck and I can't even turn it off; please, what is the problem and what should I do?

The best thing to do is to reinstall the firmware.

You can find the latest firmware here:
https://fr.creative.com/

By clicking on MP3 player>zen>zen sleek and downloading the latest firmware.

Please note: you must back up your media beforehand as they will be lost after the update.

Then just connect the Zen sleek with the USB cable, double click on the executable, and follow the instructions.

It will reboot and it will work... but for how long? :s

I have a Zen Stone and I have the same problem, does it work too? I can't even connect it to my computer, as soon as I click on it my computer freezes... meanwhile, the stone flashes orange and green.

I have a Zen Stone Plus 2GB When I connect it, Windows XP installs it (but it takes time, it struggles) Then in the Device Manager, it appears correctly in Disk Drives (it "works properly") but it is not found in My Computer, nor by the Creative Media Lite software, nor by the firmware update executable... AND my PC starts freezing very quickly, everything unlocking when I unplug the player.... I sent it back to Creative but they found nothing and returned it to me as is....... What should I do? Hello! I'm a bit late compared to everyone else!
I have the same problem as many others; my Creative Zen is stuck on startup (after it was rebuilt following a reset), but the screen stays black. I can't connect it to my PC because it's not being detected, and even when I try to install firmware, the MP3 is not recognized. Do you have another solution? What should I do?

Hello, I have a Zen V Plus 8GB and it got stuck yesterday too. It only shows the message "firmware problem."
I tried to reset it, but it didn't work: the message keeps showing up. I also tried to download the latest firmware, but my computer no longer recognizes the Zen drive.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I recharged it using an MP3 charger, and suddenly it got stuck. I panicked a bit; it was my Christmas gift.
I unplugged it and let it fully discharge, then I recharged it using my computer.

I also have a problem with my Zen Stone. When I try to turn it on, the green light comes on and stays solid, no music plays, and the only way to turn it off is to press "reset." But the problem persists. Moreover, even when connected to my computer, the light remains green (it should turn orange), and my computer doesn't recognize it. Even in Device Manager, my computer doesn't recognize it.
Please provide a solution so that I can finally enjoy going out with my music again.

I also had the same problem; no matter how much I pressed reset or let it discharge to recharge, nothing worked, it remained stuck!
It restarted because I removed the card. I didn't really understand the relationship between my card and the Zen being stuck, but it's working!

I don't understand why,
My creative Zen Mozaic mp3 "bugs" very often (so I have to reset it).
But since the first time I did that, my computer tells me that the device (my mp3) is not installed, and I have to reinstall it. But it would be annoying to have to do that every time (since my mp3 bugs often like this..).
And I wanted to know; if I reinstall it on my computer, will I lose all my songs that were on it (on my mp3)?

Hello everyone, here is the problem I personally have; I have a 4 Go Zen Mozaic that won't turn off.  In fact, when I turn it on, it continuously plays music and I can't stop it or do anything else, and the keyboard is completely stuck...  The only way I can turn it off is to do a reset...  I have tried to find the famous button mentioned by DjAmAt to do a software reset, but I couldn't find it.....  I seriously need help please...

Hi Fost,  How did you do a reset if you didn't find my "little button":  "1. On the bottom right side, there is the possibility to do a software reset through the small hole of 0.1mm in diameter. Well, good news ^^ the keyboard has unlocked ^^ but now I'm wondering if it was better before T_T  Now my keyboard has gone completely crazy T_T all the keys are reversed (I increase the volume with the pause key, I scroll through a menu with the speaker button...)

Hello everyone, I had a similar problem (for several months, nonetheless) with my Creative Zen Sleek 20gb. After performing a 'reset' of the player via the 1mm diameter hole, it got stuck on rebuilding the library, no longer being recognized and accessible on my PC. I tried all the solutions mentioned earlier, a bit demoralized, I gave up on the 'reset' hole, and I tried pressing ALL the buttons on the player (On, play, ...), and even before the library reconstruction was completed (or got stuck), the screen turned off and a second later, everything was working again like new! I hope this helps some of you. PS: if you have a different model than mine, there is probably a combination of buttons to press simultaneously, good luck.

Hello everyone.  Here it is. I have a problem with my Creative Zen 4GB, here's the issue: Yesterday, as usual, I added a few photos from my PC. A few hours later, I wanted to charge it, so I plugged it into another computer (it wasn't the one I usually use). My MP4 displayed the message Firmware problem. I had several options: Clean Format All Reload Firmware Reboot. I chose reload firmware. For a while, I thought the problem was solved since the Firmware Problem message no longer appeared. However, when I unplugged my MP4 and turned it back on, it was as if I had just bought it. It was in English. I had to reconfigure everything. All my music had disappeared, my photos too. My recordings, EVERYTHING! I wanted to restore everything, so I went to the computer I usually use to transfer music or photos. But my PC didn’t recognize it. I went to the ZEN Media Explorer software. But it displayed "Your player is not connected. Connect your ZEN to the computer." Now I don't know what to do.. Do you have a solution? If so, please let me know. Please :(

Hello I had a big scare last night with my MP3 player because despite charging it all night, it wouldn't turn on: black screen and no light active I found the solution on the Creative site : before pressing the reset button, you need to connect the MP3 to the USB port : it probably needs the reset part to be powered... Anyway, my player is back to life and I hope this can help others.
