Monbeq 512 Mb MP3 Player

Solved

Hello,

I was given a 512Mb monbeq MP3 player
In the box, there was:
-an installation CD
-earphones
-a new battery
-the player
-a manual

I plug the MP3 player into the USB port of my computer

The new hardware assistant appears,
it asks me to insert the installation CD,
I do so, and the assistant says "Installation impossible"

I unplug the MP3 player, I reinsert the installation CD and I see it says: only designed for Windows 98/SE

After some research on the internet, I learn that there is no need for either the installation CD or specific drivers

I reconnect the MP3 player, and the assistant reappears, still asking for a driver or installation CD

What can I do, please?

Hoping I have been clear enough

PS: I am on Windows XP
the manual says that the MP3 works on Windows XP

I have a problem with my Monbeq 512 MP3 player; I can't install it without the drivers, XP does not recognize it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi
I think you should try to do the following:
connect your MP3 player to the PC
follow the installation instructions as if you have the right software up to the point where it asks you to manage the installation from a specific location (CD-ROM...) or from the internet, then choose to do it via the internet and Windows will find what it needs by itself. This kind of device works on XP without any issues and without installation
good luck

First of all, hello. I just bought the same MP3 player and can't get it to work on my computer!... I have Windows XP and what's happening is that my USB ports, except for the one connected to the modem, are not working... I’m starting to feel a bit desperate.
Thank you in advance to anyone who will help me solve this problem.

Help. I gave a Monbeq 256 to my son.
Windows XP recognized it without any problems, I don’t know how but it works.
However, when I load .wma files, they appear in my MP3 but I can't listen to them.
What should I do?
Please, my little one has been waiting for his MP3 for a week!!!

Hi,
this player supports WMA 7.0 and 8.0, so you need to convert your WMA files with DBpower (illustrate) to WMA 7.0 or 8.0 or even to MP3.
See you later

Hi,

I followed your advice (load DBpower ...). But when I try to convert, the software tells me it's not possible.
In short, the conversion doesn't work and neither does my player!!
Can you help me one more time?
Thanks
Sabine

Hi Laurent,
do you have a small audio editing software to control your mp3 file?
Unless it does it systematically on all your files, in which case check with the seller, either it's the player or it's the headphones.
See you later

Under Windows XP, no driver is required. Of course, Windows XP will tell you that a driver is needed but it isn’t necessary; you just need to install the device which should be recognized automatically, then switch it to USB mass storage device, and afterwards its icon should appear in My Computer so you can then insert MP3s inside.
As for the headset that only works on one side, this could be due to either a technical failure of the headset (speaker, cord, or in most cases, the jack itself being unsoldered), the device's batteries (which can sometimes happen), MP3s that might be in mono, or finally the player that might be set to balance, resulting in sound only from one speaker. THERE YOU GO!

Hi everyone,

You haven't looked in the previous requests, some links are provided by colleagues like you
all drivers.com offers a "universal driver" for USB keys under W98:

http://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=18

One shouldn't limit oneself to their type of hardware
Some are starting to stop responding to this kind of question

Hello everyone!
I just bought this monbeq player, it's a 256 MB but the procedure is the same. For all Windows XP users, as previously mentioned, no drivers are needed and thus no need for the supplied disk, just turn on the player, connect it to a USB port on the PC (if possible, a USB port where the power management option in Windows is unchecked) and wait for Windows to recognize the player and install the drivers that will allow it to appear as a removable disk. Then you just have to insert the mp3 files one after the other, and especially in directories...
Catch you later!

Nothing is appearing.. I understand that it should automatically show up like a USB drive, but nothing is showing up. It doesn't recognize the hardware

Possible issue independent of Windows XP: compatibility between the USB port and the MP3 player, that is:
USB 2.0 MP3 player and USB 1.0 port of the PC
IF this is the case, yikes, a purchase of a PCI/USB 2.0 card is very likely...

Hi
Small mistake in the post from 28/04/05, the mp3 files should be uploaded one after the other but especially NOT in directories.

ok for XP and for win 98?

For Win 98, you should normally use the installation CD provided.
If that doesn't work (it should), try installing it manually.

Here is my translation: Here I have another problem. Everything is fine with my PC (Windows XP Home), it recognizes it, but during the transfer, I put my music in my player with folders (albums) so that I can find everything easily, but here’s the problem, it doesn’t work!!! I have to put the music in "brackets" inside!
Is there a solution please
Thank you in advance.

Here, I bought a mobeq 512.
It works well except that when I check the properties of the removable disk in the control panel, it shows used space 442 MB free 81 MB, but I can no longer add files :(
Is this normal? Or is it an issue?

I also have a monbeq 512 (cheap but a piece of junk). It doesn't recognize the directories. If you have folders with music, it can't see anything but the memory space is occupied.
Either you delete the directories with your PC. Or you format the key.
Good luck.

Hi,
I had the same problem, you can always cut the files from your subfolders and paste them at the root (while connected to your PC, of course), then it can see them (and read them), but you will have a sorting issue... I don't know how to sort them the way I want: the alphabetical order is not respected.
Does anyone have an answer to that?

Hi everyone,
so I have the same player, but due to a wrong manipulation, I deleted the folders that are on the player. If someone could tell me the names of the folders that we usually have so that I can recreate them and store my mp3s again.
thanks to all
