Hello everyone,
I was recently given a ZicPlay 512 MB FM MP3 player and it works great as long as the battery lasts! Of course, I can’t seem to recharge the battery. I connect my MP3 player to my PC for hours and that doesn’t recharge the battery. I’ve consulted the paper manual (a bit flimsy, by the way) and the Internet but not a word about this problem. I suppose there must be something I’m not doing, but what? Do you need to activate a specific function to start recharging the battery? Does the battery need to be charged from the mains? I’m open to any information, gladly.

I myself have a ZicPlay, and this type of player doesn’t offer a battery charging function. So you have to recharge your battery separately with a charger? Be careful because you’re talking about a battery, and alkaline or saline batteries are not rechargeable...

Please help us! I just bought an mp3 player, zic play, but it only works when plugged into a computer... There are no places to put batteries, I am completely lost... please help me! Moreover the manual says nothing about this... it even claims there is a data CD with it, but I don't have one. Please help me!

Very simple: either you plug your MP3 directly into a USB port on your PC, but in that case you must turn it on before plugging it in (yes, odd trick but it works), or you buy a dedicated charger.
NB. If you forget to disconnect your MP3 when you shut down your PC, the battery will drain and your computer may be affected at restart; you will then need to unplug your MP3, turn on your PC, and then reconnect your MP3 to charge it, of course while turning it on!
A specific and bizarre procedure but it has worked flawlessly for years for me.

Hello everyone
My mother received a ZicPlay 256 + FM
Like many of you, I have the problem of the battery that lasts only long enough for 3 metro trips, even though the advertisement claims 15 hours of music
Okay, in Paris the transports are long but still not 5 hours each
From what I read above, it would be necessary to recharge a battery on mains power
But I have no battery in my Zic, well after looking everywhere nothing
So from what I could understand the battery would be a rechargeable battery and it would charge better directly on mains than via the PC??
Anyway
thanks a lot for enlightening me, for me all this is just gobbledygook -
I’m glad I could be of help...
do you find an improvement with your batteries?
- longer listening time than with disposable batteries?
- how long does a charged battery last?
- is the battery/power indicator reliable?
- what type of battery did you buy: Ni-Cd or Ni-MH?
- what capacity are they (mAh)?
thank you
Francky-
Hello Franky, well, you’re really throwing me a curveball here!!! I bought rechargeable batteries (or accumulators? what’s the difference?) Uniross 900mAh AAA 1.2V + Uniross Ni-Cd or Ni-MH charger. Input: 100-240 VAC 50/60Hz 5W; output AA: 2.8 VDC 700mA, AAA: 2.8 VDC 450mA, Prism: 1.4 VDC 450mA. However, I haven’t yet received a precise answer regarding the listening duration because I haven’t used it enough since exhausting the “batteries” completely. It seems to be around 9–10 hours. To confirm. As for the reliability of the battery/accu indicator, it looks good but that also needs to be checked. I’ll be more attentive in the coming weeks and I’ll keep you informed. Have a good day Francky.

I also have a problem with my MP3 player; my computer doesn’t recognize it. It won’t install it, and when it does recognize it sometimes, it won’t let me put songs on it. Why??
