Defective tablet following a fall

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my tablet (Asus Memo Pad, 10 inches) that I bought in 2013.

A few weeks ago, it fell about thirty centimeters while in its case, and yet the glass cracked in several places.
As a result, the touchscreen stopped working altogether, the screen lit up but I couldn't do anything, no response to touch.

I thought it was just the glass that was the issue, and I ordered a new touchscreen online, but when I dismantled the tablet to change the glass, I saw that the broken glass had damaged the LCD screen (shards had gotten stuck inside). It is scratched and has glue marks (?), marks that I probably made myself while removing the glass, in addition to everything else.

I did install the new glass to see if it would work, but without gluing it, as I figured I would have to change the LCD screen as well. So I now have a "dead" zone about 5 cm wide on one side of the screen (colored stripes on a black background, it’s lovely...)

Since changing the touchscreen, the tablet "works," meaning the touchscreen is functioning, but it’s acting randomly: for example, it keeps switching from one home screen to another, opens programs "at random," opens the internet, all at lightning speed. When I click somewhere, it sometimes does something completely different (like I clicked elsewhere, anyway).
At times, it calms down, and I can read something without it jumping around. Some parts of the screen respond correctly, while others provoke a response that isn't what was requested (for instance, you touch "email," and it opens "VLC"... and that’s just one example).

So here’s my question: do you think this problem is solely due to the LCD screen or more likely a loose connection in one of the components (motherboard, etc.) of the device?

Of course, I'm wondering about this before buying an LCD screen only to find out that the problem persists after installation. The nearest tablet repair shop is still 50 km away, and on top of that, they won't give me an opinion for free...

I should mention that the sound, screen rotation, brightness adjustment, wifi connection, etc. are functioning normally (after all, the fall was only 30 cm, so not very violent, especially since the tablet was in its case).

Thank you very much to those who take the time to read this and give me their opinion, I use this tablet a lot, and I really want to find a solution but I don’t want to risk a fairly significant expense for nothing. I have asked this question on other forums where, despite many views, I have not received any answers. Surely there must be some tablet repair enthusiasts who could tell me if these symptoms are characteristic of a faulty LCD screen or if it could be more serious.
So thank you in advance.

    Hello

The touchscreen that's "acting up," to me, means that either it's not the right model or simply because the flex is poorly connected to the circuit board.

But given the description of the problem, I still lean towards the second solution because it's happened to me several times after changing a touchscreen....
