Windows Media Player opens by itself.

Hello,

Since my transition to Windows 10, sometimes Groove Music would open by itself, and as soon as I closed it, it would reopen. So I took the initiative to disable Groove Music on my computer because I thought that would stop it. Wrong move, it started again with VLC, which would automatically open, and when I closed it, VLC would reopen by itself. So I uninstalled VLC from my PC but it happened again with Media Player, except I can't uninstall it and I need it to watch movies...

Can someone please help me?

    Hello,
    Try:
    Settings
    Devices
    (top left) auto-run
on the right side, move the slider (blue) to off, small white circle all the way to the left
check all the information on the right window as needed to understand

        Hello,

Please specify whether the opening of your applications is spontaneous without any particular manipulation or by clicking on a video?
Try this manipulation (after reinstalling VLC and other applications if necessary) then:

        Settings
        System (Display, etc..)
        (left side) choose Default applications
(right side) make your choices by clicking on the action to perform or make your choice at the bottom of the page (choose the applications, etc...)
        Good luck.

after two hours of manipulation, still the same result...
      any other ideas? sir

The problem occurs as soon as I turn on Windows and log into my account. Right now, for example, I'm struggling to type because Windows Media automatically opens...
It's not because I'm clicking on a video; however, if I do, it works normally, but the issue is that I don't do that. Opening a video is fine; it works normally, just like VLC. In settings, system, default apps, it shows music: Windows Media Player and video: Windows Media Player. Meanwhile, it also happens while I'm playing games... which is quite a hindrance...

I had an idea, I changed the settings, system, default apps, music: which was in Windows Media Player I switched to VLC... And then I started a game, and two minutes later it’s no longer Windows Media but VLC that opens by itself and I can't close it... Any idea following this?

    Hello,

try this method for default programs:
choose your video player first: VLC or Windows Media

    right-click on the Start button
    search
    type: default programs
    then configure the default programs
in the list scroll down to Windows Media Player
then on the right click on choose default settings for this program
check the box: select all then save at the bottom of the window then ok
go back to Windows Media Player
then on the right click on set this program as default
    click apply and ok

Maybe your app opens at startup.
In that case, go to Task Manager, then the Startup column, and if vlc is there, click on disable.

I already looked, but the app opens by itself and if I close it, it reopens by itself.

After 1 minute, Windows Media opens by itself and reopens again on its own. However, no news from VLC (Windows Media seems to have taken over).

In the end, following this step, it continues on my part. However, when I disable Windows Media Player on my PC, a Windows message tells me "you will need a new application to open this .mp3 file"; however, I did not want to open any mp3 files. I suspect my wireless keyboard is the source of this problem because when I turn it off, it doesn't happen, but when I turn it on, it does ... What solution? Aside from changing it ... it's a Logitech wireless keyboard, I am attaching my keyboard ...

Look on the Logitech support site for updates
    also on DriversCloud
    https://www.driverscloud.com/fr/actualite/230-1/nouveau-service-de-drivers-ma-configcom

    installation of the agent
    automatic installation
then go to your downloads folder (or another path you have defined)
now launch DriversCloud.com start the selection and then detect
    an internet page opens
click on the my drivers tab
you then have the list of drivers to update.
    then download your drivers.
    if needed help
once detection of the agent is done (detect)
    an internet page opens
click on the my drivers tab
the drivers to update are displayed
you click either on the line or on the small arrow on your right
    then save the file
    close your browser
    and install the driver

    or with Driver Booster

    last attempt
    press "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" simultaneously
in the appearing screen select "Task Manager" confirm yes
in the table click on the "Startup" tab
in the new screen all the apps or logs that open will appear
check if you have the app that bothers you if so disable it

    Close everything

    Good luck

I don't think the keyboard has any effect on your problem. The only question is, has your PC always had this "error" or is it recent? Try to remember. In that case, a restoration to a date before that may fix your PC (provided there are backups).
      Best regards.

I think it's a problem with my wireless keyboard because I reconnected my old wired one and now it's working like a charm... It's very strange...

After consideration, I wonder if your problem might be due to the configuration of your box.
To configure your box, you need to access it using the common code. Type in the address bar: 192.168.1.1, then select your box and follow the instructions. If you have any issues, contact your box provider who can resolve your case.

    Hello,

Your problem is therefore with the wifi keyboard!!!!!!!!!
Did you have this keyboard under the previous OS W7 or W8, or did you buy it to upgrade to W10?

Try borrowing a similar keyboard to confirm that it is indeed your keyboard causing this unintended opening. In that case, contact the manufacturer for more solutions.

    Good luck.
