Hello everyone!
I hope I'm in the right section.
Let me explain the project setup.
Before, when I watched movies, I would connect the laptop via HDMI to the TV. And the laptop would shut down by itself with ChronoShutdown.exe, and then the TV would turn off afterward. The goal was to be able to fall asleep in peace in front of it.
However, the laptop, equipped with a simple 2.8GHz Celeron, overheats a lot. (When I place my hand near the ventilation, the air is as hot as a car heater on full blast)
So I bought a Chromecast, connected via LocalCast (APK), and with a key in the box, I can stream movies directly to the dongle without needing to turn on the laptop, which no longer overheats since it is off.
But the flaw is that the TV doesn’t turn off as long as the Chromecast is sending a signal to the TV, even after the movie is finished.
Do you know how I can shut down the Chromecast after a certain period so that I can continue watching movies at night in peace?
Thank you for your help!

Hi,
Otherwise, I have an easier solution... The TV timer? :-)
All televisions have a setting that allows them to turn off "by themselves" after X time, whether they are active or not... Often found in the energy-saving settings or something similar....
You just have to tell it "in 3 hours, stop" and it turns off ;-)

You're right in your idea!
But I think I forgot to mention that my official remote control is no longer working, the IR LED is unsoldered, and even resoldered, it still doesn’t work.
So I bought a universal remote control, which does not allow me to access the TV's settings menu. I can change channels, manage the sources, and adjust the volume.
But I have no access to the settings, so no access to the timer...
