Hello,

My printer won't turn on. Someone told me that the connection has been lost. Is there any way to fix it, in your opinion?

Thank you for your reply.

    Good evening...

If nothing happens when you press "on", check the power cable and the wall outlet.....

    Best regards,
    See you later

      Hello,

Thank you once again for being available, Poupougne. I tried the cable on another printer and it works very well, as does the wall socket. The issue, in my humble opinion, would be with the printer's connection bus.

What do you think I should do?

      Thanks again.

When you say it doesn't turn on, do you mean it doesn't work but is powered, or absolutely nothing happens when you plug it in?

Yes, it only lights up when it's powered on.

Yes, it only turns on when it's powered. : there, I can only read.. it's half affirmative, and the other half negative.... ! ;)

    Now, I understand better! ;)
When you plug it in, there's neither sound, even a slight one, nor the lighting of a warning light....
If that's the case, I'm thinking it's a problem with a dead transformer.
Is your transformer INSIDE the printer or is it an external block?

There is neither NOISE nor POWER. NOTHING helps.

I don't really know what a transformer is. If you’re talking about the transformer that connects the printer via the cable to the wall socket, I can tell you that it is located inside the printer.

So, for me, that's what needs to be checked, knowing that disassembling a printer is less straightforward than disassembling a computer!
I suppose it's no longer under warranty?
In my opinion, we won't be able to do much from a distance... and taking it to a repair shop could be at a "prohibitive" cost, but wait for other opinions...
It could also be the power button that’s... try manipulating it a bit or using a can of air, but well... nothing certain either!
    Good luck.

Yes, I already took her to a specialized Canon center and I was told it would be better to buy another one than to try to repair it because it would cost me much more. And as you said, it is not under warranty here. I really appreciated its print quality...

However, thank you once again for the help.

Have a nice afternoon and a good week!

Well... if she really pleased you, I think we can still find her:

    https://www.amazon.fr/Canon-Imprimante-Multifonction-dencre-couleur/dp/B0038W1BGY
but I think the more recent ones, in the same price range, will at least perform just as well... at least, I hope so! ;)
On the other hand, don’t just rely on the repair center; if you know a handy person, they can at least check if it's not just the power cord that’s unsoldered, that happens too... but if the transformer needs to be replaced, then, of course, the repair becomes "economically" unjustifiable ;)

Have a good evening as well... and please, even if it’s not really the case, think about marking your subject as "resolved" under your username and the title... thanks! ;)

      Hello Poupougne,

I'm not marking it as resolved because I'm waiting for other opinions to see.

      Thanks and see you later!
