Hello,
I have my boyfriend's iPhone 5s whose screen is completely black, it doesn't make any sound or vibration. However, when I charge it for a long time and connect it to my Mac, it appears, I click on "Continue" to allow its access to my computer and then a window opens with "Allow access on your phone" written, but I can't do much from the phone...

I just want to recover the photos that are on the phone, does anyone know how I can do that?

Thank you for your help :)

Configuration: Mac OS X (10.10.5) / Safari 9.0.3

Hello, if the iPhone has never been connected to your computer (PC or Mac), you need to confirm the "Trust this computer" prompt that appears on the iPhone. Without confirmation, you can't do anything.

Also, if the iPhone is locked with a code, you will need to enter the unlock code after confirming "Trust this computer."
Since the screen is black, you can't do anything, but there's a trick worth trying, provided that the touchscreen works, which you can't know, but still.

You need another iPhone 5 or 5s; the goal is to use a piece of paper to trace the screen of the iPhone when it displays the unlock code keyboard. By placing the traced paper on the broken iPhone, you'll know where to tap to unlock the iPhone.
To confirm the "Trust this computer" prompt, do the same; connect an already unlocked iPhone 5 or 5s to a computer it has never been connected to in order to bring up the "Trust this computer" window. Trace the window and use the paper on the broken iPhone to locate where to tap to confirm the window.
If the broken iPhone has also run out of battery and has been charged, the prompt requesting the PIN code will appear (at least you won't see it). Just remove the SIM from the iPhone; it won't ask you to unlock the SIM.
To turn off the iPhone before removing the SIM, press Home and Power at the same time for 10 seconds and release them at the same time. The iPhone will turn off, take out the SIM, then turn on the iPhone with the Power button, wait 10 minutes (to make sure the iPhone is in sleep mode), place the tracing paper with the unlock keyboard, press the Home button, then enter the unlock code, then place the tracing paper with the "trust this computer" validation window and connect the cable to iTunes. Wait for iTunes to prompt you to allow access and do so on the iPhone via the tracing paper.
It's a bit of a hit-and-miss method, but if the touchscreen works, we can make it, I’ve done it before and succeeded.

One question, did your friend activate the iCloud Photo Library option? To check, go to iCloud.com, enter their ID, and click on Photos.

Thank you very much for your help!
I have tried your technique several times but to no avail... I think the screen is unfortunately no longer touch-sensitive.
As for iCloud, I will check with him today because it could be the miracle solution!
