Hello HELP....
I recently came across about fifty small VHS-C video cassettes that were recorded with a first-generation camcorder that has long since died.
Given the number, I purchased the Logilink USB2 Video Grabber software as well as a Bulk Adapter with a scart plug and RCA x3 female + S-video female with Inter In and Out, as well as a VHS-C ADAPTER MOTOR CASSSETTE. I also have all the possible cables.
I was able to transfer the other similar cassettes recorded with a newer camcorder (which proves that the software is properly installed and that the acquisition hardware works...).
The problem is when I play my old small format tapes using my JVC GE-SXM28 camcorder, the image is in black and white and all striped....
I also own a video recorder and CD burner combo.... Samsung DVD Recorder & VCR DVD-VR350.... I have tried all possible connections but I can't capture either sound or image. I also tried to burn my tapes directly to DVD (very easy since there is a direct copy button from VHS to DVD) and the discs are well burned (the brand on the CD is darker at the burning level), but I cannot read them on any device...
I've been working on this for 15 days and I'm pulling my hair out. I could have them done by an outside service, but at a minimum of 7 to 10 euros per tape, it would be a financial drain....
Moreover, I can't view tapes or DVDs from my DVD-VCR combo with the scart connection I just bought.
I hope someone can help me solve my problem...
Thanks in advance and don't hesitate to ask if you need more information.
My computer runs on Windows 7 Service Pack 1
I have another newer laptop, but the problem is the same.
It may just be a settings issue with the combo, but since I can't get any image, it's complicated.
Thanks.

Hello,
It's a standard issue, your tapes must be in SECAM and your JVC GE-SXM28 is in PAL... or the other way around.
"I was able to transfer the other similar tapes to the first one but recorded with a more recent camcorder (which proves that the CD is properly installed and the acquisition equipment is functioning...)"
Since it works with this configuration, why not continue like this, or I don't quite understand your concern.

I call a spade a spade *
*in French in the text.

First of all, thank you for your responsiveness... I would like to continue like this, you know I tried but the output is not good.... image in black and white and blurry and no matter what I select PAL SECAM on the computer, I can't get a correct copy.
The problem certainly comes from the fact that the camcorder I used first was a SECAM since this one is a PAL
Thank you

Yes, if your tapes are in SECAM, you absolutely need a SECAM player or a PAL/SECAM one, and I don’t understand why the Samsung DVD recorder & VCR DVD-VR350 isn’t working since it is multi-standard.
Then: "image in black and white, scrambled" have you done a serious cleaning of the playback heads?

Yes, I started by playing a cleaning tape and a cleaning DVD
so I just checked my camcorder, it's PAL. When I put a cassette in and select PAL video input, the picture is in black and white but there's sound, and if I switch to SECAM, it's completely scrambled with color lines... I've done so many manipulations that I don't know where I stand anymore.... And I was so excited thinking that from my PAL SECAM combo it would be super simple, I would just have to make copies.... Plus, I bought a large stock of DVDs that won’t be of any use to me.... That's tough, and thank you.
