Hello,
My Nikon Coolpix L29 displays that the battery is dead when I turn it on, even though my batteries are new. I connected it to my computer, what should I do next!? Thank you for your help!

Hello Sharlene89,

First, you should test both the battery and the device. When it comes to a specific battery, the most effective approach would be to go to the store where you purchased the device and ask the salesperson to test your battery on a demo unit, as well as test the demo battery on your device.
In this case, you just need to test the LR6 batteries on a device with the same load (a flash, a radio at full volume, etc...) avoiding remote controls and other less power-consuming devices that could skew the results.
  • If the batteries are dead, then you should replace them, that's simple.
  • If the device has a defect, you should first try to reset it to factory settings, erasing all configurations. If that doesn't solve the problem, it’s likely a hardware issue, so a return to the manufacturer is necessary, especially if it's still under warranty.

It's a gift, so I don't know where it was bought, and I don't have a receipt or anything.
