Hello,
I have a PackardBell Netbook DOT SC.
The first problem was that my hard drive was no longer recognized (invisible even in the BIOS).
It was then possible to boot from USB, but before trying tools like those from UBCD, I changed the hard drive type in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE for testing: I shouldn't have!
Following this change, the PC gets stuck on the PackardBell startup screen.
If I press F2 (to enter the BIOS setup) or F12 (to select the boot), in both cases I get a "please wait" message that stays stuck like that.
I definitely need to flash the BIOS (or just reset it?), but PB only offers an executable to run under Windows on their site...
Does anyone have any idea?
Thank you.

Without a USB key, yes I tested, no change.
However, I haven't removed the hard drive; I just tried and I can't open the case... I'm checking online for any tutorials.
I reset the BIOS to default settings, reinserted the hard drive and now I'm back to my original problem: hard drive not found.
It doesn't seem to spin (no vibration), so the problem definitely seems to be with the drive... I need to grab another drive to validate that.
