I have an Acer Aspire E5-511 that I am very satisfied with. In fact,
After successive restarts, and although I don't think it's related, the computer starts but the screen is still black
Symptoms:
Power button lit green (normal)
Audible fan (as usual)
Black screen (not even backlight) without even reaching the BIOS selection screen.
With or without battery, resting for a few hours before trying again, attempting to boot from an external disk, left on for more than an hour... Nothing worked.
<underline>I'm trying these methods but still nothing with the new software downloaded from Acer?
You need a blank USB key, so if you have documents on it, back them up elsewhere. It doesn't work if the key contains anything other than the necessary files (1). Avoid keys larger than 2GB.
Format it to FAT32, either by going through System/Administration/Partition Editor (make sure to select the correct disk! (2)) by right-clicking on the partition to unmount and format it, or via command line using mkfs -t vfat /dev/sdx, where sdx represents your key's partition (3)
Download the BIOS 3114 from the Acer website. Only take the 3114, as the others did not work in my case (Although I really tried to use them)
Extract the archive, and copy all the files to your key.
Rename the file ZG5_3114.fd to ZG5IA32.FD (Respect the case, it's important)
Unmount your key properly.
Connect your AAO to the mains power. Leave the battery in or not, but make sure it's plugged into the mains (a power cut during the BIOS flash can completely render your netbook unusable...).
Plug your key into the AAO.
I ask you to please help me find a solution.

Hello
Since it is a laptop, the best thing would be to test it on an external screen connected to the laptop to see if there is any reaction after starting up.
Best regards

My question is not resolved, it's neither a graphical problem nor a screen issue, it's a BIOS problem, as in how to boot from a flash USB and how to download the software.
???

Ah, I see, we have an "expert" on our hands.
So you provide the details of the problem, including "black screen (not even backlight) without even reaching the BIOS selection screen," and you decree, based on who knows what, that it's a problem with... the BIOS.
Alright, one should never upset someone who knows everything. Seventeen years of experience in my field obviously doesn't weigh much compared to that, I must admit.
I therefore wish you good luck for the future; I will be of no help to you.
Have a good week
(P.S.: I am a computer scientist by profession, I work on several hundred PCs a year, but I don't have the luck of knowing as much as you do; take care of your "talent.")
