Removal of Lavasoft Web Companion impossible

Good evening,

After repairing a Windows 7 on a work laptop, I wanted to remove Web Companion from Lavasoft, but the uninstallation is not possible.

I downloaded FRST, here are the reports:

To read Lavasoft Ad-Aware Web Companion,

When you install programs, don't click too quickly on next and make sure to read carefully; it is now becoming standard to offer additional programs by having the option to accept directly.

Here is the correction to be made with FRST.

Open Notepad: Windows key + R, in the run field, type notepad and OK.
Copy/paste the following into it:

Once you have pasted the text into Notepad.
File menu and then Save as.
On the left, go to the desktop.
In the field below, file name type: fixlist.txt
Click on Save - this will create a fixlist.txt file on the desktop.

Restart FRST and click on the Fix button
Depending on how a restart is necessary (not mandatory).
A text file will appear, copy/paste the content here in a new message.

Restart the computer

If it set Bing as the homepage:

Reset your browsers and/or manually reconfigure your web browsers (homepage, search engine, etc.) but also remove/disable unnecessary/parasitic extensions:

When you install programs, you shouldn't click too quickly on next and you should read carefully, now it has become standard to offer additional programs by defaulting to accept.


I am well aware of this and pay close attention on the computers I use, taking the time to read and uncheck what is unnecessary. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many, and yet it's not for lack of repeating it to them.
