Hello, I have a problem with my TOM TOM ONE GPS, it won't turn on anymore.
In fact, I plugged it into the power supply to charge it and now, nothing happens, just the small green light on top. Could someone help me? Thanks

Hello  The TomTom needs a memory card that contains the mapping (France or Europe, for example). It is delivered with the device, in the box (with the suction cup mount, the CD, the identification card, etc.). Some pieces may indeed get lost by falling off the truck...  These freezes happen sometimes, but rare are the situations that require going to customer service. Before that, we can (in no particular order):  - charge the TomTom (in the car in the absence of a power supply) - perform a "hard" reset with a paperclip in the appropriate hole - do a software upgrade via TomTom Home (installed on the PC from the CD supplied with the device or downloaded from the TomTom website). The procedure offers a backup before the update, which must be done. If the PC has an SD card reader, the operation is faster by inserting the TomTom's SD card (the USB connection is slower).  Otherwise, apart from the recurring issue (common to all brands) of map updates as roadwork progresses, it is a very good product.  Happy navigation

I left my TomTom on for about 10 minutes and it started by itself, you have to be patient, especially after an update.
The second time, while checking the SD card, I noticed there were .chk files, I defragmented the card and it restarted by itself.

Hello,
I have a problem with my TOMTOM ONE FRANCE.
When I press the top button to turn it on, it turns on normally (you can see the TOMTOM logo appear in large with the two red hands; and the sound that goes with it can be heard!!!!!)
Then it loads my SD card, normal!!!
After that, the screen returns with the TOMTOM logo and the two red hands.
Then it turns off!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can repeat this process endlessly, it will always do the same thing!!!!!!

I recharged my TOMTOM for 6 hours on my PC and it's still the same thing!!!!!!!

Il semble que vous ayez un souci avec votre TomTom One. Quand vous le connectez à votre PC et qu'une petite lumière verte s'allume en haut, cela indique généralement qu'il est sous tension. Cependant, si vous ne voyez aucun autre témoin ou si l'appareil ne semble pas se charger, cela pourrait être un problème.

Je vous recommande d'essayer les étapes suivantes :  
1. Vérifiez que le câble USB est correctement connecté à la fois au TomTom et au PC.  
2. Testez avec un autre port USB ou un autre câble, si possible.  
3. Assurez-vous que le PC est allumé et capable de fournir de l'énergie via USB.  
4. Laissez-le branché pendant un certain temps pour voir si la lumière ou l'appareil change de comportement.

Si après ces vérifications votre TomTom ne charge toujours pas, il pourrait y avoir un souci avec la batterie ou l'appareil lui-même. Dans ce cas, il serait préférable de contacter le support technique de TomTom.

For those who can't find the solution, I had this problem not long ago. Indeed, if the GPS is completely discharged, it won't turn on. I think that the vibrations while driving affect the connection between the GPS and the car mount. (I deduce that it's mainly the GPS connection that is defective because I have the same issue when connecting the power via the computer connection mount) The green LED is not a guarantee that charging is occurring, it just shows that a power source is properly connected. To be sure the GPS is charging, you need to see the charging status bar with "charging" written below, which is only visible when the GPS is turned on (for example, perform a route search without pressing "finish", this displays all the status bars; make sure to select the charging status bar in "status bar preferences" if the charging bar isn't there). I've had to wedge a support between the mount and the GPS to ensure a proper connection between the two. Now it works. Always keep an eye out to see if "charging" is still displayed (unless the charging is maxed out with the entire battery green); otherwise, readjust your shim until the message appears. There you go, thank you all for your input; I'm not a regular on this forum, but I've gathered quite a few tips here. I hope I've been able to help at least one of you. Take care! P.S.: I also don't think it's advisable to leave the GPS charging longer than necessary, and as already advised, do not start and stop your vehicle while the power is connected.
