GPS issue Tom Tom XL N14644

Hello, I just retrieved a TomTom N14644 GPS that had been unused for 3 years. I just plugged it into my computer to charge, but other than the screen lighting up and a green light coming on, I don’t see anything happening... Is it charging anyway? How can I tell?
I should specify that when I plugged in the device and still had it in my hand, a red cross over a hand appeared and then disappeared when I put it down; what does that mean?

    Hello,

    To check the battery charge, long press the screen in the bottom right corner.

    As for the cross, I think it meant that you shouldn't do anything other than let it charge.
