Reliability of Ibatterie.fr "scam?"

Hello,

I ordered a laptop battery on the ibatterie.fr website with payment through Paypal.

After 3 weeks of waiting, I contacted the supplier to ask about the status of my order.... This supplier named ERIC told me that the battery had been returned to him!!!

He provided me with a tracking number from the post office..... which I obviously didn't receive at the time of the order....

He asked me for €8 for a re-shipment, which I naturally refused, and so I requested a refund via Paypal.... He then told me that I would have to pay €10 in refund fees.

There is no mention of this on his website, and I have not received any response from Paypal at the moment.

I strongly advise against this site for anyone looking to buy a battery; it smells like a scam, and reading other comments, I notice that many received batteries of questionable reliability, and others received nothing or are waiting with unfulfilled deadlines....

Price isn't everything, and the service should also be taken into account.

A word to the wise

    Don't be in a hurry!
Unreliable company! I had read about it on forums and didn’t believe it, now I can agree with this based on my experience.

Today, December 17th, it’s been a week since my order from 13 days ago, no. 16254 from December 4, 2020, tracking LT533454665NL is "2020-12-10 14:34 The item is ready for shipment."
It would have made it here on foot by now!

Battery received in January, in July, sudden stop of the PC. Charge: starts at 0%. Happens once or twice more. Installed an app to monitor PC parameters, sudden stop yesterday. Restart after plugging into the outlet, of course, battery at 0%. The app gives me: battery parameter: 3000mAh (normal), battery charge: 1% (it was starting to charge), and especially battery capacity: 1800 mAh and Capacity loss: 36%. I contact Ibatteries who offers to exchange it for sending back the battery, return address on the return slip (Prepaid Colissimo ???? I don’t know as nothing is specified, 8.8 € via Paypal. Right now I'm not sure what to think! As I'm writing this, my battery is at 31% and no shutdown! Strange that it happens only occasionally.

They offer to change the battery for free, but ask me to pay €8 for shipping.
I do .... and I wait, finally the postman tells me I have a package to pick up at the Post Office, I have to go because I need to pay VAT. I'm fearing the worst, indeed, €10! So a declared package worth €50 when it’s actually worth €20 and even then it’s free because it’s an exchange. I refuse the package. I'm out €8. I won't order from this site again because it's certain I'll have to pay VAT each time in addition to the cost of the component. I believe they are based in Great Britain, VAT effect of Brexit??? ibatterie.fr to avoid!

    Hello,

regarding the refund and fee information, it is clearly indicated on their site:

    http://ibatterie.fr/Remboursement-&-retour-info-61.html

As for the site’s reliability, no idea, not much information online.

Regarding the parcel tracking, what was the reason for the product being returned to the sender?

      Hello

I must have expressed myself poorly; the refund policy does not mention an amount of €10. For your information, the cost of the battery including shipping is approximately €45.

      Is this legal??

Regarding the tracking, the seller tells me that the merchandise has been shipped, but I never received a delivery notice.... Since the tracking should have been communicated to me from the start, I could have checked the availability of the product....
Why doesn’t he provide tracking to the customers as soon as it ships????

Yes, it's legal if a person doesn't pick up their package and asks to have it sent a second time. (We're in agreement that your case is a bit particular)

If everything is fine on the package tracking (have you been able to check on the postal website yourself?) and it’s your mail carrier who didn’t leave a delivery notice, then the postal service is at fault, and you'll have to brace yourself for the complaint…

As for the communication of the tracking number, I don't think it's a legal obligation. Did you receive an email when your package was shipped?

3- Some rules must be respected before ordering on a site:

1- Check if there are reviews available online.
2- Verify at the bottom of the page if the mandatory legal notices are present, see THIS PAGE.
Simple rule: NO LEGAL NOTICES, DO NOT ORDER.
3- Check if a postal address is provided along with a phone number and email to be able to contact the site in case of a problem.
4- If a postal address is provided, check if this address exists on https://www.google.com/maps/?ucbcb=1

6- When ordering from a foreign site, recourse in case of problems is often impossible.
7- Very low prices are a sign of counterfeit goods of very poor quality and sometimes a scam (you never receive the items).

    Hello.

You should always check the reviews or the reliability of the site before ordering. However, it’s not always easy.

For the said site Ibatterie.fr ==>

    https://www.scamdoc.com/fr/view/12193

78% satisfied and 22% dissatisfied. The negative feedback is significant.

Nothing to do with the battery, but I recently bought a laptop keyboard and first checked the site’s criteria. Example ==>

    See you later . . .
