Good evening everyone,
I'm having a computer problem with my new MacBook that I've been using for a short time.
So here's the thing, when I try to open my emails through the MAIL app directly, I can't, and to be honest, nothing happens at all because even my old emails aren't showing up anymore... However, when I log into my email through Google or Yahoo, there are no issues.
I looked into it a bit and a message popped up saying: "The server returned the error The connection to the server 'imap.mail.yahoo.com' on port 993 timed out.
Hoping someone can help me??
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Yahoo servers are often down, so you can choose to wait a bit longer to see if everything gets back to normal.

Otherwise, delete your current account, close Mail, and restart it, then recreate your account from scratch. To do this, in the menu bar, click on Mail => Preferences => Accounts.

For your information, you can find the configuration settings here => the configuration items.

Hello Alili,

I had to step away and I'm only seeing your reply today.
In the meantime, I assume things have returned to normal, but I still want to clarify that it wasn't about creating a new account, but simply deleting it in Mail, then reconfiguring it exactly the same way, still in Mail. ;-)

Hello,

Same problem on my side :) Just for your information, before I delete my problematic accounts in Mail, one question: will the deletion affect the organization of the mailbox in subfolders "Mailboxes"?
I organize each received email into mailboxes, redoing it all would take forever :s.

Thank you!
