Hello, For some time now, I have been unable to use Google Earth on my machine
(W7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 75GB free on C: Intel I5, Nvidia GF 610M).
The message "Failed to connect to a database, The URL http://kh.google.com:80 seems incorrect or the server may be temporarily down." appears every time I start GE.
I performed the diagnostic recommended by GE and followed the instructions without success.
I reinstalled GE, then GE pro...same problem.
I disabled the firewalls, ran various cleaning software...without success.
The posts found on different sites didn't help me either.
It seems to come from port 80 which is activated.
Netstat in DOS gave me some URLs using port 80
I tested them on Firefox
Two are rejected as "invalid"
Two reject me as "access denied"
Two correspond to Microsoft support
I don't really know where to look, especially since GE works on another computer running XP, and on a tablet running W8.1, all on the same router
If any of you have an idea...
Thanks in advance Kri

No response, but I eventually uninstalled GE completely using ccleaner. (remaining files after uninstallation, registry entries...) All this after creating a restore point!
I then reinstalled it (V6) and it seems to be working.
I lost my overlays in the process, but I haven't yet looked into recovering them.
This doesn't explain the reason for the problem...
