Hello everyone!
Here’s a problem I’ve been struggling to find an answer to... without success!
I have a Philips Gogear MP3 player with 6GB and a computer running XP. Until a few weeks ago, everything was working fine when one day... I want to connect my MP3 to the computer (via a USB cable... just like usual!) and suddenly, the computer shows me a nice little window saying that my device is not installed (not installed? Even though I followed the installation procedure WITH the CD provided?? Okay, let’s assume...) and that "blabla choose software blabla." I tried to manage with and without it, nothing works and then a little bubble at the bottom right tells me that there was a problem during installation and that the device might not work properly... NO KIDDING! I can't find the removable disk my MP3 is connected to... when I want to use Windows Media Player to sync songs, it finds NO connected player either (even after hitting the F5 key 500 times to refresh...). Even when I open the Philips repair software for the MP3, it doesn’t recognize my player! It’s ridiculous! And it’s been going on for a long time now... the only change is that now, when I connect my MP3 to my PC... it doesn’t even bring up the installation help window anymore. Nothing happens... And yet, the screen of my MP3 always shows the icon indicating that my MP3 is currently connected to my computer. I have three other USB ports and it doesn’t work with any of them. I tried from another computer, and it didn’t work on any of the 4 USB ports (surprised?) then from another one again and there! Miracle, it works WITHOUT EVEN DOING THE INSTALLATION FROM THE PROVIDED CD! But since this computer isn’t mine, I can’t keep bothering the person twice a week to update my MP3!
Has anyone ever faced a similar situation? Any suggestions? I admit I'm out of ideas on this one! A helping hand would be more than welcome!
Thanks in advance!!

Otherwise, try going to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management and there you can check whether your MP3 player is recognized by your PC as a removable storage device or not... let me know what you find after trying this operation.

Hello, I just followed an instruction you gave to someone for a synchronization issue. My problem is that usually I can sync by connecting my MP3 to my PC, but for the past week my computer detects my MP3 but it won't sync like it used to. For example, I want to add music to my MP3, but the problem is that when I go into synchronization it tells me to connect a device, but it is already connected and nothing happens. Can you help me?
