I know it by name and I've heard good things about it. I know Ciel Compta and its suite, which is a very comprehensive and widely used software.

I'm there, but will I stay? That is the question!! -
Every time I encountered a problem, whether it was with the software itself or how to adapt specific accounting features to the software, the technical service has always been very professional and responsive to my requests. This was particularly true with the payroll software, where the setup was complex due to specific characteristics of my company. It should be noted that the development team at Cogilog is very small (2 or 3 people, I believe), which can cause issues (longer response times on the phone at certain times, although in general, you can always reach them within the day, especially since it is not a premium rate number), but it also has its advantages (ease of speaking to a developer who has both accounting and technical knowledge, their adaptability to your specific situation). They are really very flexible and attentive. So, if you have suggestions for improvements you would like to see in their software, they will always listen to you, and it won’t fall on deaf ears. What is most appreciated in Cogilog software is their flexibility: they are functional right out of the box, but if you have specific needs, they are fully customizable.

Hello! I had been using Ciel Compta on Mac until now, but as you may have seen, they no longer develop for Mac.... I'm starting to switch to COGILOG, but the problem is that I don't know how to use it!!!! It's nothing like Ciel Compta!!! COGILOG hasn't replied to me for a few weeks!! I find that unacceptable; at least give me a sign of life after several phone calls and emails!!!! Is there anyone who could provide me with the detailed guide and some tips, please!!! I AM DESPERATE!! I am self-employed as an accountant!! THANK YOU for responding very quickly......

I confirm that we hold a license for several companies and have many remote workstations; they have not answered the phone at all since the end of 2013. We encountered a significant technical problem with the database at the beginning of 2015, and we lost quite a few client files.
The only responses we received were generic emails about consulting the online help manual, which is completely unacceptable for resolving a very specific problem that requires analysis and a competent contact person.
Fundamentally, these are good software programs, but the lack of customer support and assistance does not allow for a secure usage for the holder, especially since accounting and management are areas that require maximum transparency and security without time limitations.
For these reasons, and after more than a month of waiting without concrete responses, I do not recommend subscribing to Cogilog licenses.

Thank you very much for your response. Yes, I think it's good too.
What scares me is the fact that it's a small company. There are only three people....Regarding maintenance and development.... -
I have been using Cogilog Compta and Paye without any particular issues for a year and a half. This software is very good.

Hello Strown,
I have been using Ciel accounting and management for a few years now and, aside from the software which works quite well, I am very disappointed with their customer support. For example, after the transition from Tiger to Leopard, it is no longer possible to print documents and the people at Ciel seem not to want to address the problem quickly for Mac users. I have therefore discovered Cogilog and I’m quite keen to use this software for my accounting and management. It seems well designed for Mac users and your message encourages me in my approach.
Are you also satisfied with their technical assistance?
Thank you and have a nice day.-

Thank you very much, Strown, for this interesting and important information.
Have a great day. -
Hello,
I switched from Ciel Paye to Cogilog and I'm thrilled. The Ciel Paye team was frankly unpleasant, not always efficient, and that software was especially very clunky and difficult (a point confirmed by the accountant). Cogilog is very simple to use and understand as well.
Cogilog accounting is much better too.
With Ciel Paye, I used to get frustrated regularly; with Cogilog, I don't need to stay on the line for an hour on the phone where they gave me a solution that created other problems! A nightmare!-
Hello,
I took the plunge. I switched from Ciel Paye to Cogilog Paye. The Cogilog service is responsive! You send an email, and the Cogilog team responds quickly, which is a big plus compared to Ciel, where you often feel like you're bothering them.
Regarding the software, although ergonomics isn't its strong suit, it's probably partly due to the complexity of payroll in general. In less than an hour, I was able to set up my employees' payroll.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a default setting for CHR.
To be continued with the upcoming updates.

Good evening,
After several days of using Cogilog Payroll, I am truly disappointed with this software.
I switched from Ciel to Cogilog hoping to find the simplicity and ergonomics of Mac. My surprise was significant. The ergonomics of Cogilog Payroll are poor and outdated. From another time.
It's extremely complex, heavy, and confusing. The online help is just a name.
I will return to Ciel as soon as possible.
The only positive point, even a very positive one, is the support, which is very responsive via email. Generally, in less than 2 hours.
FB.-
Hello,
I also wanted to express my disappointment with Cogilog. After years with Ciel, I switched to Cogilog. Less than a year later, I already have to pay almost €150 for updates. One to use the software on Snow, another for the tax returns. I still bought the software for €260 excluding VAT (accounting, fixed assets, and tax return package).
Moreover, after a year of use, I'm still struggling with the data entry, which is quite difficult.
I find myself regretting Ciel, which I only criticized for its lack of evolution on OSX, and especially the absence of bank reconciliation.
I think I’m going to switch back to Ciel.
It's a shame because at Cogilog, they are available and answer all your questions, but their strategy will backfire. They should modernize their website, simplify their offerings, and continue to develop their software for easier data entry like Ciel. -

Hello,
I am looking for a software equivalent to Cogilog Time Management (which is excellent) but for PC.
Can anyone provide me with some information?
Thank you. -
Hello,
I have read on several forums that Cogilog is going to stop software for Macintosh. Do you have more information on this subject? I am currently looking for alternatives. Can you recommend another software? Thank you. -
Hello,
I bought Cogilog Compta two years ago; it works fine even though it doesn't compare to a SAGE software, but it has the advantage of running on Mac.
However, commercially, it’s terrible. They regularly offer you the new version for a fee.... and then yesterday, I upgraded to El Capitan and the software no longer works.
After exchanging emails, they inform me that to run on El Capitan, I have to purchase the new version, €90!!!
Having to pay for an upgrade is tough, but €90 when the software is worth €190 is downright scandalous!
