Lenovo BUS controller issue

Hello,

I just bought a Lenovo C260 and I'm having a problem with the USB bus controller. It shows a yellow exclamation mark and then:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) processor N-and-J-series/Intel(R) Celeron (R) processor N - and J - series
EHCI USB - 0F 34
"This device cannot start (code 10)."

I went to the device manager to update this driver, Windows says it is updated but the problem persists.
Can you help me? I'm totally lost... ;-)
Do I need to return the computer to the seller? Or is it possible to fix this issue myself?
Thank you very much in advance...

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 33.0

Reinstallation completed but still the same issue as I suspected...

Good evening. I have the same problem as you. I purchased a Lenovo All-in-One C260.

In Lenovo Solution Center, alert message 1
Intel(R) Pentium(R) processor N- and J-series / Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor N- and J-series EHCI USB - 0F34 STATUS: disabled.

Hello,
On the manufacturer's website, there are two options for the C260, which model is concerned?
C260 All-in-One (Lenovo)
C260 Touch All-in-One (Lenovo)
What operating system and is it 32 or 64 bits?
Regards.

Thank you for your attention. The model is the C260 All-in-one and the operating system is 64-bit (x64 processor), Windows 8.1 (with Bing).

Best regards.

I forgot to tell you that I have the disk driver for this PC. Unfortunately, being ignorant about this, I don't know if it can be useful to me and how I should use it...
Thanks again!

On the line in alert, the one with the /!\ yellow, apply what is explained on the following page HERE, then copy and paste in your next response the device identification number, only the first line.
Best regards.

Here is what I found:

Hello,
Several items appear when I open the folder you mentioned, what exactly should I install? (I’m really bad at this and I apologize.)

Run the setup.exe file.

I launched the file and installed the software for Intel chipset devices. Is that what I was supposed to do? Then, nothing special displays. I checked the device manager and the problem is still there. Should I restart the PC?

Right-click on the device
Uninstall it
Restart the PC.

Go to Device Manager.
Right-click on the device
Choose --> Update driver
Choose --> Browse my computer for driver software
Click on --> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer...
Click on --> Have Disk
Browse
Go to the unzipped driver folder --> INF_...
Folder --> win7
Select the file --> VLV2USB.inf
Restart

Hello and thank you for the reply.
I followed this new procedure but it tells me that Windows found a driver for the device but encountered an error while trying to install it... anyway, it's not working!
Not knowing much about it, I don't know what to do... ;-)

PS: when I uninstalled it, I did not check the box "remove the driver for this device" for fear of making a mistake...

... but he no longer appeared on the list following that operation. When I restarted to install the file you mentioned, the controller with the ! was still there.

I uninstalled the driver and then restarted, and it displayed: Standard Extended PCI to USB Host Controller.
Then I followed the procedure you showed me before, but the problem reappeared: windows found a driver for the device but encountered an error... (Code 10).

Is it still the same ID number?

I found:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F34
(This time there was only this line)

Oops! I made a mistake, it was the identification number of the corresponding device that was meant, not the material identification number which is the following: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F34&SUBSYS_369517AA&REV_0E

So it's the same... Did I mess up somewhere? ;-)

Just so you know, I have the driver disk that came with my PC: can it be useful?

Press Windows + R
Type --> cmd.exe and OK
Type --> sfc /scannow and enter.

A system file check will occur.

The verification does not occur because when I press "enter," I am informed that to use the SFC utility, I must be an administrator running a console session. I admit I do not understand (there is only one account on this PC).

Go to Start
In the search bar, type --> cmd.exe
In the list, choose cmd.exe as administrator

Hello,
I went to the search bar and typed cmd.exe but only a black window opened without the option to choose from a list, with this indicated
C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Are you sure you are on an administrator session or do you have a standard user account?

Reading your question made me doubt, but I went to check and I am indeed the account administrator, the box is checked.

Good evening and sorry for the late reply... I did try what you suggested but it didn't work at all. It's the same as before, Windows encountered an error (code 10) therefore "the device is not in a state to fulfill this request."

Is it possible to solve this problem without too much difficulty?

Repair Windows without data loss.
Check out this tutorial --> Repair Windows 7

This concerns Windows 8.1 for me.

I performed the repair (Windows 8) without data loss and unfortunately the problem is still there... When I display the hidden devices, it still indicates that the USB bus controller is not starting... This is starting to annoy me...

Good evening,

I went into the BIOS under Advanced - CPU Setup - each line ends with <enabled>
I went to the Devices tab - USB support <enabled>
Everything seems to be activated.

Additionally, I did some research in safe mode if my memory serves me right; I was able to access the following information by typing: sfc/scannow (my account was recognized as administrator this time)
Here is what appeared: Windows Protection found damaged files and was able to repair them (Note: I had re-tried to uninstall the driver, etc.). Details in the CBS.Log
windir\logs\CBS\CBS.log

Anyway, the problem is still there... I'm sorry to be confused, but all of this is totally or almost unfamiliar to me... Thank you for your help.

Is the ring road still on alert?

Have you checked if Windows is up to date?
Go to Windows Update and do all the updates.
Also check the optional ones.

Hello,
When I try to install this driver, it automatically indicates the location:
D:\EXE Build \ Intel chipset Driver
When I confirm, this appears:
The driver or UNC share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another.

However, the only thing I can select is "insert a CD into the CD drive." It's quite large. I don't have a CD on hand, especially since I don't know what it's for.

The location should be rather in C and not in D?
Do you have multiple partitions?

I managed to install it at: C:\Intel chipset Driver
The installation went well. I restarted my PC but the problem is still there.

I just bought a Lenovo C260

Go back to the seller and use the warranty.

Good luck.

Hello,

I’m back. I’m responding because I think this could be interesting. I returned the PC and the seller refunded me. He was quite surprised and told me it was definitely bad luck; besides, there was no way to get a new one since he didn’t have any in stock.
I went to another store to buy the same one (40 euros more), I set up the PC (last night), and surprise: the problem reappeared!!!!
What could this issue be? Is it simply related to the software installed by Lenovo (solution center) that is not suitable for the PC's configuration?
Personally, I don’t think I’m that unlucky...
What do you think? Thanks for your response.

Have you done all the updates via Windows Update?

I'm working on them, but there are many... I admit that I'm a bit lost in all these updates... It seems that one of them failed. I've restarted Windows Update once again and it's still downloading 4 updates right now.
What kind of problems do you think I might encounter with this USB bus controller since my PC is working fine...?

I have made all the updates but the "!" is still there...

I uninstalled, removed the device; When I turned it back on, I see this: ! standard extended PCI to USB host controller disabled.
I await your instructions. Can you answer my questions about the risks of having this kind of alert on my PC, thank you very much because I would like to know more! ;-)

Same issue, but I got information from Lenovo.

I did the same process as on the old PC, by searching for "PCI to USB standard host controller" I found the hardware ID number:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0F34&SUBSYS_369517AA&REV_0E
In short, it's exactly the same as on the old PC and I don't really want to do the same manipulations as last time... Could you reply to me in more detail when you have the time, thanks a lot.
