Hello,

I have a little problem with an external hard drive "Samsung M3 Portable - Portable external hard drive 2.5" - USB 3.0 - 2 TB - Black"

When I plug it into any of the USB ports on my laptop, it is detected perfectly, and file reading works normally.

But during file transfers, it disconnects from the PC because I notice that the hard drive light goes out. I feel like for transfers of 100MB it’s fine, but it disconnects as soon as we exceed 1GB.

I would like to point out that I have tried it on 3 different computers, including a desktop.

Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
First of all, have you tried changing the USB cable?
    Also check the power settings:
Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Power Options > Normal Use
Another idea is to go to the Device Manager and for each root USB hub > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
Let us know if it worked.

Thank you for the information; I do the same when I have an experience, I share it on the network so that everyone can benefit from it! We often get out of a tough spot thanks to all those who understood this mutual aid, even with strangers.
      Thanks again!
