Damaged or missing driver (code 39)

Solved

Hello,

I am experiencing hardware issues with my "USB composite," "Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller," and "Generic Bluetooth Adapter," with the first two being the most problematic. Indeed, yellow exclamation marks have appeared in my device manager. The status of each device shows "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. This driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)."

I realized this problem when I tried to connect my external hard drive to my computer, as it was no longer recognized.

I have already attempted to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, which have consistently resulted in a failure to reinstall. I also deleted the "Lowerfilters" and "Upperfilters" by running the "regedit" program (solution found on a forum). This did not change anything.

Do you have a solution?

Here is the information provided by the website ma-config.com:

Hello,

What is the brand and exact model number of the PC?
What operating system is it running and is it 32 or 64 bits?

Try these drivers:
--> Renesas
--> Webcam
--> Intel

So for the first one, I get a message saying that an older version of the driver is already installed and that the installation cannot proceed. I get the same thing even when I uninstall the old driver before starting the installation of the new one.

For the other two, apparently nothing has changed (still the yellow exclamation marks), even after restarting the computer...

Right-click on the 3 devices
Uninstall them
Restart the PC
Try installing the drivers again.

It's done. Unfortunately, no change.

The drivers tried to reinstall themselves after the restart, but each installation ended in failure. I still tried the drivers you suggested, but I got the same results as before.

Ok. By the way, what is this DVD they're talking about? Is it necessarily included with the computer? Because I don't seem to have it...

I don't have any blank DVDs available, I'll buy some next week to test it all.

Thanks again for your help and your time!

Hello kaneagle,

After purchasing blank DVDs, I realized that Dell DataSafe wouldn’t start (my computer must have serious issues).

I then performed a system repair via the command prompt in safe mode, using a tutorial I found on tomsguide.fr.

http://www.tomsguide.fr/forum/281003-10-tuto-reparer-windows-installation

It turns out that the issues with my faulty drivers are resolved!

Thank you for your help, and more specifically for the idea of the system repair!

Have a great rest of the day.
