Hello,
So here it is, I bought an Epson XP-205 printer about a year ago. At that time I had a computer running on Vista. Today, I have a new computer with Windows 8. I just installed my printer, did a print test and everything went well. Except that the scanner doesn’t work. When I try to turn it on, a message appears, telling me:
"Communication with the scanner is impossible.
Please check that the scanner is powered on, properly configured, and that there are no connection errors.
For more information, please refer to the Troubleshooting section of the User Guide."
I don't understand. I followed every installation step and everything works fine regarding printing... so why not the scanner? Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone, sorry for digging this up but I wanted to inform those who are still looking:
Here's the solution
Open the program list (start menu)
Open the Epson folder
Choose the program: Epson Scan Setup
Select your printer from the list (if multiple are registered)
Stop the ongoing test
There's a choice between 2 possible modes, local or network.
Click on Local
Start the test
And everything works again like before.
