Hello everyone,
I have read and gone through the information regarding the failing HDD and I have this problem to solve.
I would like your informed advice for my HP PAVILION p6 desktop PC.
I am having issues with this PC.
Fortunately, I can use my partner's laptop.
I am willing to try, with a lot of patience, an application from your recommendations.
I will summarize my actions:
upon startup, I get a message saying "Failing disk detected by SMART, failing SATA disk."
I have done antivirus scans, cleaning with antimalware, CCleaner, and CrystalDisk.
I attempted a backup, but it was impossible.
I tried a backup image, but it was impossible.
I copied my folders to a USB drive.
I would like to replace this HDD, but I have no knowledge about the next steps.
Can I use a Windows 7 image backup from my partner's laptop to restart my desktop PC?
Or what should I do to use my desktop PC as before?
Help if you are listening,
thank you
I have noted the Processor: Intel Pentium CPU 2800 RPM L1/L1/L3 cache size 64 KBX2/256KB2 3072KB
Memory size: 4096 MB DDR3 /1066 MHz
Configuration: Windows 7 / Mozilla 11.0

To replace the HDD, it's very simple, you just need to take the right connector (SATA or IDE?) and the right form factor (3.5 or 2.5?) and you're sure it will work.
If you have a desktop PC, the form factor is 3.5. If it's a not too old PC, the connector is probably SATA.
Can you post on the forum a screenshot of the SMART info of your HDD with CrystalDisk, so I can see where the issue is? Because I "read that I ran antivirus, antispyware cleaning, CCleaner, CrystalDisk"
If your documents on the HDD are important, maybe with a Live CD you can recover what is still readable onto a USB stick.
