Active directory directory services currently unavailable

Hello everyone,
I own a Brother JPC140W printer, which was installed on Windows XP and worked perfectly.
I acquired a laptop running Windows 8. Unable to find the installation CD, I downloaded the driver from the Brother website, but I encountered a lot of problems during installation. After several attempts, the printer seems to be "on the computer," connected via WiFi to my Neuf box, as the wired network "cannot find the printer."
However, when I try to print a document, I always get the same message: "Active Directory directory services are currently unavailable."
I called Brother, who sent me to Microsoft, who then sent me to my computer's website, which is Asus, who then referred me back to Brother. It's a vicious circle!
It's enough to pull your hair out.
Thank you to anyone who can help me solve this problem...
Berto

You didn't have to connect via USB cable; when you see this message (active directory currently unavailable), it means it has lost the printer's IP address.
On the computer side, there's nothing to do. It's coming from the network.
So you need to reset the network on the printer to reset your IP address; then you reconnect to your box by entering your Wi-Fi key from your printer. A new IP address is generated, and everything works again.
