Hello,
I would like to install the EBP accounting software on Vista, but my CD is not meant for Vista, so I downloaded it from their site. The download went fine, but when I try to install it, I get an error message saying that the EBP database engine is running and that I need to stop EBP applications and stop the engine to proceed with the installation. I've tried a lot of things, but I'm not having any luck!!! Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
I encountered this problem while installing EBP Paye after installing EBP Batiment and EBP Compta 2008.
You need to go to: Start, Control Panel, Services
Find the line for EBP Pervasive.SQL, right-click on the line and STOP.
Leave the startup value set to AUTOMATIC.
Exit the Control Panel.
Then you can start the installation of your EBP software.
Restart your PC, and check that the database has restarted by itself by going back to Start, Control Panel, services, EBP Pervasive.SQL. The value should be set to STARTED.
There you go, it should work.
Best regards. -

They are just a team of thieves. I advise you to use this type of suite; customer service and updates are just a joke. They spend more time figuring out how to protect their software than actually making it evolve. Just so you know, in the accounting update and others, they found a way to block the single-user version to a single PC. Bravo! How does one manage when they have a desktop PC and a laptop? Two licenses? If that's not extortion, what is it??? Anyway.
