The cross button (X) is not working! [PSP-3004]

Hello/Good evening,

Today I wanted to use my PSP a bit, and of course, there were no batteries left since I haven't used it in a really long time. I set the date/time as you should do every time you turn it on. So, using the directional buttons, I select the numbers, and when I want to confirm with the cross button (X), nothing happens.

I've tried pressing harder or softer, restarting it, but nothing works... :/
I don't know why this is happening; it might be because I haven't touched it in about a year.

Thank you in advance, and I would like a quick response because I am leaving for vacation tomorrow, and I won't be able to do anything.

Your PSP has received a shock. You can take it to be repaired. It's not a virus ^^

A shock? What do you mean? Because I haven't touched it in a long time, so I don't understand how it could get a shock.. ^^

I'm going to tell you something, my computer hasn't been used for 3 months, I turned it on a week ago, and my upper left corner (near the power button) is damaged as if it had fallen ^^ even though it hasn't moved from its place, surely someone in your family, brother, sister, must have used it ^^ they won't tell you if they broke it. ^^

So, in any case, if that's not the case, your key is damaged regardless.

In the following case it could be a virus:
    # A computer mouse that no longer responds.
    # A keyboard key
    # And I'm not even mentioning everything else ^^

On a PSP, I don't know of any potential virus or anything that could have put your 'X' key out of service ^^ it would have put all the keys out of service, didn't you find any dents on your handheld console?

Well, as for the PSP that broke down, it's not really possible, because I don't have any brothers/sisters and none of my parents use my consoles, just my mom uses her PC.. ^^'

Virus? It's possible, but I don't think so. I download games for my PSP but it's never happened to me to get a virus while using the same site all the time.

And what is a "beugne"? :)

A dent, a bump, a hit, you know on this forum if we don't have any precise information we can't do anything ^^
So right now I just know that the '' X '' button is not working anymore.. I advise you to go check in a video game store ^^

Oki. But is it paid to repair it in a game store or not?

Yes, it will surely cost to have it repaired, but I don't think they will charge you to find out what the problem is. However, yes, they would come to repair it (you can say no, or inquire about the price...). You would probably have to pay 10 - 20 euros, depending on what is broken in it...

Have a good evening, ShadowMor. I hope to see you soon.

Hello, back from vacation, even a little late. I just wanted to say that there was a problem with the gamepad. It just needs to be taken to a repair service. ^^
